Over on the Scene of Boxing, it appears as though the negotiations for the Ward/Dirrell fight are being hampered by a venue dispute. Goosen is insisting the fight take place in Ward's hometown (for the 3rd consecutive fight) to maximize revenue. Shaw (the fat ****), however, is having none of it and feels the fight must take place in Dirrell's hometown to make things fair. Goosen now believes the original date (September 25th) that was scheduled for this bout, is looking more and more less likely mad: ****!!). Now even though I hate that fat **** Shaw, I do agree with him on this one. In this competition we've all realized how important fighting on home soil is, and he does have a good reason to not let Ward have another fight in his hometown. Seeing as though Dirrell had to travel to fight Froch (and was done over), I feel he deserves to have a 2nd bout in his back yard. Thoughts?
Goosen is a *****! Ward needs to man up and lace his gloves somewhere outside of his home town. Oh and no way is this fight happening in sept.
you either have two away and one at home or one away and two at home no way should one fighter have all three fights at home and there shouldnt even be a discussion
They should fight in Vegas or Atlantic City, that would be the fair thing to do. But what they probably financially should do is have the fight where the most money is being drawn BUT require CSAC to have 1 judge from CA, 1 from Michigan, and one from neutral territory. And the ref should be Joe Cortez or Kenny Bayless.
with these two its easy wards had two at home so he has one away , dirrels had one away one at home so he can make that two at home , i realy cant see any reason for ward having three at home infact if he does ill be disgusted
There are two options in this IMO. One is to fight in detriot and give dirrell 2 home fights so he is on par with what kessler and ward are getting. Option two If the money doesn't make sense with the detriot venue then fight in a neutral place. This would put dirrell on par with froch and abraham who had 1 home fight, 1 road fight and 1 at a neutral location. So it's still fair. As for the right location for a neutral bout. We can look at vegas, MSG, england, montreal and maybe even somewhere in germany. I would lean towards montreal and then england. First off, This will all but garentee a fair fight in all facets. Montreal I believe is becoming one of the premier boxing towns in the sport. Pascal and Bute have made alot of fans of themselves and boxing in that area currently. Why not ride that waive of excitement. I'm pretty sure a fight between dirrell and ward will be the talk of the town when it happens. Many fans are very interested in potential bute and pascal foes and that goes especially for the two most dangerous ones dirrell and ward. I see alot of comentary and interviews from bute and pascal on the fight and the hype thier city will be getting for having 2 young, very good and interesting american fighters coming to thier city to scare off. I've seen the atmosphere of montreal fights and I would bet that Ward and Dirrell pack the house there. As far as europe, I feel that England or Germany would pretty much sell out the fight with these two fighters for the same reasons I said the people in montreal would. This is a very interesting fight and I think it makes a good statement for your town as a boxing town if they have two of america's best coming all the way to thier town to battle it out. I actually think dirrell and ward have alot of interest in europe. I think everywhere but oakland would be riskier to sell out in the US, than the other locations as a stand alone main event.
