What about Froch's referee? Anyway, Froch is much easier to hit than Kessler. He comes in slow and wide. His "granite" chin will not do a thing for him except allow him to take a longer beating. Guys like Ward prefer to land the punches as opposed to taking them. And the fact that Ward would easily see Froch's hands coming at him in slow motion would not help Froch's dilemma any either.

Ward needs his referee so he can heat butt.

About 30 minutes away from Oakland. And nothing was going to keep me from watching that fight INSIDE the Oracle Arena last Saturday. I was at the Miranda fight, as well as a few of Ward's fights in San Jose. Luckily I'm not a big fan of bay area sports teams. I better leave it at that in order to skip the controversy.

You know....I think you're right. If you just repeat the same thing over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and overand over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again....you must be right. What were the rest of us thinking? Great argument as always my friend. Keep up the good work.

what do you think about a big card in this area with nonito donaire, robert guerro, and andre ward? i think they would have to open up the second level of the oracle arena. that's a money maker to me. i would like to see robert guerro fight edwinn valero, donaire-darchynian ii, along with ward.

Wow! Ward's billy goat head butt was the most blatant head butt I have ever seen! It came from left field and was intentional.

Remember, if Ward gets head butted his opponent should be praised for such a good butt! Right? I will remember...............

I don't know the fighter, my friend grew up with him though and was going to come to the fight but couldn't make it. Karim Mayfield is the fighter, and he won. I'm not sure if he's expected to be much better than a good local fighter, but naturally I'll root for him since he's from around here and my friend's tight with his family.

The atmosphere adds to a lot of the excitement. I've been to just a handful of title fights in my life (Klitschko-Arreola, Ward-Kessler, that Filipino-Mexican card back in Sacramento a couple years ago) and being there just makes things much more exciting.

Ward impressed me and definitely surpassed my expectations. Although I generally don't like it when guys hold or have arms locked up, I like the fact that Ward actually fights with his free hand. I don't like it when a guy just holds and looks at the ref and waits for the ref to break it up. Ward killed Kessler with left uppercuts to the head on the inside. He mixed it up a lot with boxing from the outside, angles, and rough in-fighting up close.

There's still some concerns, naturally. Ward's punch resistance passed the test but he didn't get hit with that much regularity. Because of this, and his chin issues in the past, Abraham may be the biggest test for him in the tournament as he carries his power for the full 12. A really tough pressure fighter might give him problems if they can walk through his shots, as Ward's not much of a puncher. Again, his ability to fight in the clinch helps, though. He did get kind of reckless at times, mainly in the mid rounds. He was really pushing for the stoppage at the end and putting himself at risk, but I think Kessler may have been worn down by then and his power diminished. Ward walked through a couple right hands like it was nothing in the latter rounds.

And for those of you who missed it....Ward cheats and needs the referee so that he can headbutt. How do I know? Farmboxer told me so! End of discussion!

Ward's next opponent should land lots of head butts, afterall, they are legal punches according to Ward's fans.

I'm not completely sold on The Ghost, but Donaire is a force to be reckoned with. That kind of fight card is a guaranteed hit. It sounds too good to make though. You'd have to get three fighters to all agree to fight in their opponents backyard. Those are the three bay area stars in boxing though, no doubt. Be on the lookout for Brandon Gonzales from Sac also. I will most likely have to argue endlessly with fools about him on his way up just as I had to about Ward on his way up. People here have thick skulls.

new legal punch, the billy goat head butt from left field.

Ward refused to fight in the tournament unless he had "all" his fights in his home town.

Froch has the harder head so I'll say Froch by a blatant Glasgow kiss , Ward will withdraw due to a fractured skull

oh yeah. i heard on ringtalk.com mayfield fights out of the straight foward boxing gym in sf. i agree ward still has some things that concern me. but i think his chin is pretty solid. he had some chin problems @160, i think b/c his was struggling to make weight. i thought he was wreckless at times as well, sometimes the switching conventional, southpaw looks like an amatuer tendency. but he really impressed me with his inside fighting.
