As far as Dirrell goes, he held, fell down on canvas, complained and ran. Not so good. So, Ward fans are claiming that a fighter should fall down on canvas, complain, run, hold, head butt!

 

what weight class is brandon gonzales? i'll be on the look out for him. i agree with the thick skulls part. many years ago there was a little philipino that beat the crap out of barrera,and i said man i would like to see him move up and fight mayweather. at that time mayweather was fighting @135. everyone thought i was on crack or my mom dropped me on my head at birth. well, that's the most talked about fight right now, and i said it would be a good fight years ago.

 

I think Mayfield wings too many punches. I saw him fight on a card once when his opponent was so much taller than him that he literally had to catch air to land punches to the head. I was sitting next to an old school trainer last Saturday who is well respected in the local boxing community. He thought Mayfield looked amateurish (he said it, not me, but I didn't argue). I think he's at 168. I was also lucky enough to witness Ward spar him for 4 rounds, then rotate in the friend I tagged along with for another 4, and finishing the last 4 against MMA's Nick Diaz. An amazing display of talent I witnessed that day. I'm calling it now, Brandon Gonzales is a shoo in for a title in the next couple of years. And about that filipino guy....I have to admit, I never saw all this coming.

nick diaz is local too isn't he? i heard of his name because i use to train with an oakland native names dee pooler, and he was talking about training some brothers with their boxing. i think the last name was diaz. i thought i would have to eat my words about pacquiao when he got out boxed by morales and marquez.

No I have never heard that. But Celaya being trashed is well overdue. Hirsch used to play for the Raiders for those who didn't know. Mr. King is not shy about letting you know that either.
