And right after Golovkin is exposed, off the bandwagon you jump just like you did after Froch clobbered your hero Bute.
These same women will claim ggg shouldn't go up one weight class and risk his mw kingdom ....but they want welterweight Miguel cotto and his blood ......oh no actually ....they just want that mw lineal crown for the mantle so they say.....even if it means another no hope in heiland getting in the way
All the same, if he can move up and fight top fighters in the division, that means he's part of that division, especially if they win lineal titles there. This actually goes for any fighter.
ill say my final piece on this for now....to kirk and all of you i know you guys think myself and many others just want to see ggg lose....and im sure there are many that want to see him lose....i also think for every one of those people there are one, or more than one, that are deathly afraid to have him lose....because then they cant come here and try to talk up their favorite figther that they want held in reverance like floyd is..... i can assure you i dont want to see ggg lose...im a boxing fan....and i dont dislike ggg.... you cant deny his resume is ****....we can argue about whether or not its his fault or not....its kinda pointless......there is an opportunity to get a hall of fame name on it....in ward.... what im afraid is him continuing down this path that hes on now....hes 33...and yeah he has little wear and tear...hes a young 33....so there is an argument to be made that he still has plenty of time....but still...if another year and a half to two years continue like this we might be passed the point of return on his career shaping up he needs to put a couple of hall of fame names on his resume...he has none...0 right now....which is odd for a fighter of his caliber and standing in the sport....without his career will not hold any weight.... i dont care if he goes up once and loses...and then comes back down and dominates his division...i dont care if he whoops wards cheeks ...comes back down and whoops the red off canelos head and retires undefeated...id be like "damn that guy is the truth...hes the man"...i dont care either way....what i hate is wondering whether or not hes great or hes really good.....what i see is a really, really, good fighter.....and i just dont know....the eye test looks good....but i dont hold his resume in any regards...its just "ehhh....exists"......im worried about this continued path...even if theres still time......he has a chance to right the ship right here....in the next year or two....a ward fight....a canelo fight.....win or lose id be impressed with his willingness ...and two wins? id have no choice but to become a believer....instead im getting lemieux....and then maybe canelo late next year...and by that time ward is prob at 175 for good ....and then hes fighting mw purgatory again...... dont hate ggg and dont want him to lose....just want to see the demands made on other fighters made on him ....lets find out how good you are....hes not a god...hes a fighter whos team wants to make calculated decisions.....i dont want to see him fighting lemieux and a heiland and canelo in the next two years .....
http://boxrec.com/boxer/627774 IKR. But Douglas is on the verge of breaking thru to the big time. Fought even with Soro, a bigtime prospect with huge potential, and his recent KOs over other touted international prospects, has him on the cusp of s****om himself. Sort of a better version of Quillin. In that, he seems willing to take challenges to prove he's the best up and coming MW. That said, yeah, GGG doesnt need another of these. It will take Douglas maybe 3-4 yrs to come back from a KO loss to GGG, and K2 wont get anything in terms of bargaining power for beating him.:-(
i know douglas and have seen him fight....but i clicked on his boxrec anyway and realized he fought jeremy yelton last year....holy christ....i remember when yelton fought paulie years ago ...i think it was at 140....yikes that guy is still around? and fighting north of 160? lol
Feel bad for Ward. He might be the only guy who could be B-side in his hometown. The guy just has no juice. No drawing power, no interest, no nothing. Jay Z is a smart man, but right now the investment in Ward has a "Tidal failure" feel to it.
Shockmaster, your points are well taken. I agree with a lot of what you wrote, if not all of it. I have removed you from my list of anti-GGG people. Those boys will hear from me when GGG beats Ward. I am a GGG fan and I'd rather him take the Ward challenge now. Even if he loses, he can go back down to his natural weight class where the Cotto-Canelo winner would be more inclined to dance. This is the moment because once Ward moves up, it will just get harder to make that fight.
