The two best in the tournament meet in the 1st round.
Wards speed and defense against Kesslers accuracy and big fight experience.
I make Kessler a very narrow favourite. Apologies if it sounds like II'm sitting on the fence but its a difficult fight to pick.

Dont post if you donw know please.. Of you havent study'd Kessler then do it, and post.. Kessler has big respect for every fighter he meets.. Kessler strenght is in his mind.. He dont trash talk anyone.. and he dont underrestimate "sorry for my bad english" anyone. So Kessler allways takes the first 2 rounds with ease, studying the man, jabs a bit, measuring the distance and so on.. And when kessler feels comfortable, he begins his slaughter.. Unfortnally some boxers didnt even survive when kessler was studying his opponement.. But thats kessler.. Actually, i have never seen Kessler goin for a brutal knockdown as he did vs perdomo... He is normally patience.. So i guess team sauerland has taught him some animal fighting skills...

So his fight with ward will be like the starting rounds vs calzaghe.. Study study.. when ward gets tired of mikkel figiting a tecnical fight, ward will come forward , and kessler will simply land great counter punches and uppercuts.. Then ward gets tired, and kessler will start the slaugter arround round 6 - and i belive the ko will be at round 10

All the raving about how good Ward is.. the betting odds putting him second last to win the thing - 1/10. Anybody backing him put your money where your mouth is?

Both unproven? Come on, a three times world champion is unproven? Not in my book.

Good to see a sincere attempt to learn the language of champions.
As one of the two beltholders in the tourney as well as the favorite to win, Kessler has more bargaining power than the others do. Why is the fight in Oakland? It can't be just because Showtime is an American network (Las Vegas would be the obvious choice in that case).
I have to figure the purpose of having the fight in Oakland was twofold; it's a way to balance out Ward's considerable step up in class as well as an opportunity to increase Kessler's American exposure. I think it's going to be a huge advantage for Ward, though. He does have an excellent amateur pedigree to draw from, and fighting at home can strip away some of the pressure of fighting for a championship and allow his latent talents to shine through.
Kessler is supposed to win. I just think it's a lot better than 1/10 for Ward as someone said the betting odds were. As for a "slaughter," that doesn't really happen to Olympic gold medalists very often.
