Kessler came to Australia and beat Mundine. The Australian would beat Ward at Super Middle. And Mundines a bit past it. :deal Thats how good Kessler is. Should i mention its his first defence?
If you think ANY supper-middle weight from Australia in the history of boxing can beat Ward, you are on crack.
I see this as a tough fight for both. Kessler is a seasoned pro with a fast jab and stunning power in his shots. Ward is a young contender with good overall skills and speed. I'm leaning towards UD win for Ward because he is much more diverse and maybe his stance switching can potentially bother Kessler. But I also wouldn't be surprised if Mikkel wins.
I think Mundine vs Ward prime for prime in Australia would have been an even fight. They are fairly similar fighters. However, in the US I think Ward would be the favorite. They both have very similar natural abilities - very similar. However, in terms of learned boxing skills, Ward is clearly more educated.
Anthony Mundine has been ranked in the top ten by Ring Magazine for 7 consecutive years. His average ranking over that time is fourth. He was ranked inside the top ten after two years of boxing (and with no amateur background) Ward has not even cracked the top ten yet. He has been pro for 5 years. He may go on to accomplish a lot; right now he hasn't. I don't like Mundine at all. I cheer when he loses. I don't mind Ward. But facts are facts. There are only 2 supermiddles in the last decade that I would put as clear favourites over the best version of Mundine and the best version of Danny Green. That list includes Calzaghe and Kessler, and does not include Ward. Not yet. Of course, the great thing about this super six tourney is that a lot of questions will be answered. If Ward is as good as some people think, he will have the perfect chance to prove it.
your knowledge of kessler is just short of no knowledge, while you enjoy wards amateur career, you forget kesslers. He won the european youth championship at a young age, and shortly after became pro. therefore he needed a couple of easier fights, in the early years to get experience. but you dont see us kessler fans grasping at straws and building up his amateur credentials, because they dont count for much in the pro game. Furthermore fighters as mikkel and other eoropean based fighters, have been called stay-at-home fighters, and us fans would been laughed at, had we pulled the amateur card. But i guess, when it suits the americans, hypocracy has no boundaries.
Yeah, we've spent ample time debating what these guys have DONE. The past is the past. To be honest with you, what goes on in these fights is all being determined right NOW, in the gyms. RING magazine couldn't possibly rank Ward for consecutive years. Hell, the guy's 25 folks! The fact that a 30 year old vet is facing a young opponent with ARGUABLY (as seen) a better resume is a scary thing for Kessler fans. You're up against a phenomenom.
Well it's a damn good thing I have tape on both fighters and can actually see the skills and abilities of both, right in front of my very eyes. Are you and I looking at the same thing? Do I have the wrong Andre Ward and Mikkel Kessler?
Arguably a BETTER resume? Do you really think it is arguable who has the best resume between Kessler and Ward? Come on, dude. Ward may win - because resumes don't win fights, but right now Kessler's resume is several times better than Ward's. Ward doesn;t even have the 10th best resume in SMW. Come up dude, get real - just a bit.
Come on dude, get real huh? I said ARGUABLY a better resume, not arguably a BETTER resume. See the difference? And arguably, because we've BEEN ARGUING this to no end. My whole point of the post, the one YOU MISSED APPARENTLY, was that resumes do not win fights, so I was trying to move on. What these guys did before now won't mean **** compared to what they do after the first bell rings. There's your bit of REAL! Come on, dude.
you did indeed neglect to answer any of my points or for that matter make sense, the only thing you established in your post was, that you have eyes:yep your the kind of guy who voted bush, because of fear, then re-elected the ****er, but recently switched to obama, based on his hype and the possible change, and yet again your on the hype machine, this time just wards:yep
Answer what points you judgemental jackass? You made no points. You made jibberish. And keep your politics to yourself, find somewhere else to discuss that gay ****. Men are talking boxing here. You don't know the first thing about what kind of guy I am or who the hell I've ever voted for. How the hell does your jackass brain determine this from boxing takes?
