Fight night is here. Everybody here knows what is going to happen. All Kov needs is a fork stuck into him because he's done. Excuses and playing victim without addressing the real issue doesn't even make for a good placebo. The guy is already a beat fighter. He didn't act out today at the weigh-in. Wonder why. Ward was talking though. I'm sure he was disappointed Kov didn't want to engage when they're finally face to face. I like Kov too, this is what makes this all shitty. You guys are only going for him just because you hate Ward and it has little to do with actually being a Kovalev fan.

Majority of you are a bunch of bit**es and Kovalev deserves better than you bums.

I watch boxing as a passionate fan. I dont bet so I don't need to be rational and this is not a prediction either.

I'm a compulsive gambler, and unless the odds are way off value I have to make at least a small bet to feel the full experience of a boxing match.

 

Really hard to call, I expect this fight is going to be more intense than the first one

I will stick to what I've been saying which is Kov decision but I am by no means confident enough to make a case for it

Ha3x boxing is my fav sports so I don't bet, I do bet on other sports sometime for the same reason as you so I can enjoy the match more. I don't do it with boxing, I'm tense enough when big fight is on lol

 

Kov going to humble Ward.

 

Kov mid rounds tko. He's the better boxer and too much for ward at distance. I expect kov to box him and use his legs to keep Ward from getting close. Also Ward is reaching with these mind games, from the trainer thing, to the weigh in. He's acting like an insecure guy that needs something extra.

 

I am a fan of Kovalev and see that Ward, son of headbutt, is a hypocrite. We all know the decks are stacked against Kovalev but he comes to fight and let his fists do the talking. He is a true boxing champion, who doesn't throw elbows, headbutt, clinch, tackle, pay off referees and judges, avoid drug testing, and do everything possible outside the ring to gain an advantage.

With a similar set of values you're perfect a Ward fan. All you do is talk a big game on the keyboard.

My official prediction is Ward by decision. I have a small bet on Kovalev however, only because I see value on Kovalev as the underdog at 2.30/+130 and the match as a fight either CAN win. The most detailed analysis I've posted in the last couple days is in the thread re what Kovalev's gameplan should be, which I'll bump if it gets buried in inactivity.

I am still more than anything looking forward to just a great, high-level contest, I definitely admire both guys as boxers, but I'm now also rooting for Ward to win. It sucks that it's come to this: but considering the unfair hate Ward gets, not just here but across the boxing community by Kovalev supporters, I just would really like to see Ward win this. Especially as I've got older and admire talent more than have favourites fan reaction doesn't get to me, so I've only had this shift because the anti-Ward contingent has become so strong.

I don't believe that Kov will go for the kill as he has been hinting.

I also don't believe this stupid notion that Ward "figured him out". This is a load of bunk and Ward trying to convince people that he won. There were some late rounds I definitely gave to Kov. Ward has said outright that he believes that after the KD, he won every second.

Kov is a skilled fighter and he will again have Ward backing up. I see it as a similar fight and Kov decisions him. I don't believe it will be easy for either and will be 7-5 or 8-4 with a swing round or 2

 

Ward by competitive decision. I think fighters with a very high ring IQ are more capable of adjusting, especially when they have a complete and versatile style as Ward does. Just like Floyd in the Castillo and Maidana rematches, Ward won't make the same mistakes twice; he'll improve on what brought him success (the jab + body work on the inside) and diminish what gave Kovalev success (his control of the center and straight punches at range).

Those are my principal reasons. Then there are small sprinkles on top that may mean nothing but if counted also weigh in Ward's favor. Kovalev fights worse when he's angry and he's obviously very pissed. Also Ward's knee problem (which may have partly explained his wide stance and diminished movement at 175) has finally been treated, according to Virgil. Plus there has to be some truth to the rumors of a lack of a functional relationship between Kovalev and Jackson. None of this may count for anything, but if they do, they lean in Ward's favor.

I could be wrong, but that's what I think. A competitive Ward decision.
