Ward cannot take his power though. I hear what you're saying about power guys not knowing what to do when they can't inflict the pain. But Kovalev will land and when he lands he will hurt.
Both are terrific fighters and I can't wait for the fight. Kovalev a clear favourite for me 70/30. Ward has a chance, but there's too much "if"...
You're right, I'm just saying Ward's performance against Barrera isn't really an indicator that he beats Kovalev because the gap in quality between the two fighters is extremely wide.
He is but Kovalev is great at controlling the range too, he has a longer reach than Ward and a really good jab.
Not taking anything away from Ward but Kovalev is relentless in hunting down his quarry. IMO... Ward will survive for 5 or 6 rounds but when Kovalev pins Ward in a corner... I think Kovalev's power overcomes Ward's grabbing & holding defense. Will be a good fight to watch.
you could be right...not saying you are def wrong....cause i could see this going either way.... but kova aint never hunted someone like ward....after eating some good shots himself and doing some swinging and missing i dunno if youll see the same kova by round 6
Yeah... you could also be right... if Ward can do enough damage to Kovalev to force him to back off. IMO... My thinking is Kovalev's power and relentless pursuit will more than offset Ward's defense. Will likely be a good fight to watch.
Good you sheeple, good. Keep betting on Ward. I hope the odds will be reflective so I can make some money on this fight. I am betting $1000 on Kovalev by KO. Too skilled, too determined, too powerful. Ward is a hell of a boxer but Kovalev is on another planet.
You're looking at it with rose colored glasses on. ......and when you say Hopkins who was in survival mode for 11 of the 12 rounds made Kovalev swing at air all night, that pretty much tells me you're a cheerleader and not an objective observer. Credit must go to Kovalev for having the patience and skill to find a Hopkins who played on the defensive the whole night. Once a fighter of Hopkins pedigree decides to go defensive, I don't care who you are, he's not going to be easy to connect with clean shots. Kovalev did, and dominated!
There always has to be an if in it huh? Let me one up you, 100/0 Ward, if he can avoid the power shots. That is a monumental "if" my friend!
