Exactly, offense often leads to mistakes that your opponents can capitalize on, by minimizing it and focusing mostly on the defense (assuming you're good at it that is), it's much harder to fight such a guy.

You'll even see guys of different classes (like say a prospect vs some journeyman) who's obviously FAR superior to his opponent, "struggle" because the other guy's doing nothing but spoling and surviving.

    I'd make Kovalev the favorite.

Ward is a great fighter, but Kovalev is also a great fighter with some real intangibles. That power is real and he knows how to find the target.

This is not a Pacquiao/Mayweather situation. Pac was always 3 inches shorter with a much shorter reach and didn't know how to cut off the ring. Kovalev is a big fighter with great offensive footwork and nasty power.

It's a matchup of 2 elite boxers and one guy has the means to land devastating power shots. Ward will have to fight a perfect fight...like not get hit at all by Kovalev's power shots. I don't know if that's possible since even Mayweather got nailed a few times by Pacquiao.

Well that is why IF was capitalized :rofl:lol:
I was impressed with Ward this past fight but if, **** there I go again with that word,he pulls some dirty shots he may find himself winning by DQ as Krusher will flip out and snap.

Plus of the two who has killed a guy:huh:huh:hey

How am I cheerleading when the fact of the matter is Kovalev was indeed swinging @ air all night? And I agree, Hopkins was in survival mode. Doesn't detract from the fact that he made Kovalev miss. A LOT...

Kovalev dominated a *50* year old man - who had recently been beaten by Chad Dawson. Is this supposed to be heralded as some type of ATG accomplishment? LOL. Any way you slice it, Hopkins having gone the distance with Kovalev - and making him appear a bit amateurish in the process - is not a good look for the TOMATO KAN Krusher.

    Kovalev looked amateurish vs. Hopkins?

I have never seen Hopkins go into survival mode like that, he actually looked scared... And that is saying a lot, he fought a MW Roy Jones.

What's your witty retort in an attempt to denigrate the reason for Pascal looking scared for his life not once but twice?

This is a non-sequitur. Pascal? He was beat up. Didn't seem particularly scared, though. Not quite sure what your point is.

Who knows but if that last round lasted 10-15 more seconds Hopkins would have been Koed or the ref would have stopped it because he was litterly out on his feet

I doubt Ward could Hurt Hopkins like that

Yes Hopkins' longevity at the top level is quite remarkable and pretty much unparalleled in the sport of boxing.

The old man can still take a punch, and I find it significant that he knew he was out of the fight after being tagged once.

Wasn't Ward already made a slight favorite back last November when the fight was first mentioned?
