Ward vs. Taylor set for April. Lou Dibella refuses to promote Jermain.

Im not saying that Taylor shouldnt be fighting at all, but he shouldnt be fighting Ward. Or anyone eles in the super six at this point. If they wanted to salvage his career they should have pulled him. What I dont understand is WHY was there only a few of us questioning the fact that he was in this thing to start with. I wont really go into why I feel that he was invited to this thing, but all the people that are upset about it now that it seems that he is going to be an easy W for Ward at this point should have been cring going into the fight with AA:hey

Well, I've gotta say, if DiBella is releasing Taylor for health concerns, I mean if your PROMOTER is releasing YOU who makes him money, that's a clear sign you should let it go too. JT was seriously hurt vs. Abraham.

Now good news for Taylor (if fighting on is good news), that he said he was the best shape of his life (compare the 12th with the Froch fight: he was fresh, just got caught through the guard), also, the tournament pretty much guarantees two more fights for him in the USA with great paydays. He probably asked himself: so why pull out?

The bad news is that even if he was well conditioned and for once fit for 12, he did get caught very badly and banged his head hard causing health issues, also, fighting on without the backing of your promoter means ALL ADVANTAGES will be in Team Ward's camp, and it didn't look like the hometown ref bothered too much about Andre's headbutting, now imagine 3 hometown judges and a hometown ref, Taylor is ****ed.

Taylor should trust DiBella on this one. Hang'em up, Champ!

 

Taylor was doing well vs. Abraham until the last round. He ate some punches, but not too many, he wasn't a sitting duck like Miranda. Without the KO out of nowhere, he would have dropped a narrow decision by like 2-3 rounds, and that without scoring for him with eyes closed. Abraham is the most explosive and precise puncher in the whole tournament, so there is no reason to think that the road ahead of Taylor, when he continues to improve his stamina the same way he did for the Abraham fight, is one consisting of complete beatdowns.

I think there is more something like Taylor refusing to be replace by someone else behind it, who would have brought a lot of money with him as a step aside money to Taylor and his promoter.

CORRECTION: If there is something behind the scenes we don't know, like undisclosed brain bleeding having been detected and doctors warning him to continue, then this is a good thing of DiBella to go public on this without telling it straight away (he cannot, for non-disclosure clauses over medical findings).

 

Like I have said Ward was an unknown to most there was no footage of him against somebody A level. Now he is no mystery I'm sure he wont be underestimated at all and Taylor with knowledge of Ward will formulate a better plan than Kessler. Also Ward just won he is the favorite for some is he still hungry it is easy to do what he did as the underdog. Taylor is not the under dog with his back to the wall do or die. Taylor will not go quietly

DiBella's a good dude, he doesn't want to be involved in what could be dangerous for his fighter, you certaintly can't say that about every promoter

I think you guys forget the reports that Taylor did not have any recollection of the knockout and the fight afterwards. He just couldn't remember that for it for some time. Now, how would you react if somebody close to you decided to continue fighting even if it is clear that the last fight left a serious damage?!
