Ward just looked like he was getting bullied in there like a ragdoll, wobbled several times by JABS, and then on all fours in the 2nd round, and during the whole fight didn't even hurt Kovalev once, but somehow still got the decision? Can't believe some people on ESB don't see the robbery lol.
He was bullied for the first couple rounds. It was kind of shocking to watch unfold. But he showed his championship pedigree and high boxing IQ by weathering the storm and making it a competitive fight by the mid rounds. He definitely was not bullied for the entire fight. In fact, by the mid rounds Kovalev looked a bit tired and confused as to what Ward was going to do. It truly was a tale of two halves in that fight.
After round 3 kovalev didn't have and answer to how Ward was weathering the storm 1st round he landed 1 great jab, 2 round he dropped him, 3rd Ward picked it up just a notch and started to change the momentum of the fight by mid rounds Kovalev looked gas out and his puches didn't seem as powerful and he was being getting beat to the body. There were a lot of close round but in my opinion Ward took them
Man versus boy. Their faces at the end said it all. Kathy Duva alluded Kovalev injured his right about mid mark. Otherwise, Kovalev would have stopped him.
