Your part of the problem, in a tight fight between two elite fighters your screaming robbery, if your guy was so superior why didnt he just knock out Ward?

Ive never seen a fight in which all the judges are the same nationality as one of the fighters, how bizarre and why did Kovalev agree to this as the champ?

If you're saying Kovalev deserved a draw I'd not have any particular issue with that. So your beef is with one of 12 rounds being scored for Ward instead of Krusher. Hardly a robbery, based on your point of view that the judges probably only got it wrong by a single round.

Very bizarre, and I can only think they felt at a disadvantage during negotiations, namely Krusher needed the fight (and the money) more than Ward did. The $5m/$2m split was an odd concession also and hints at the fact, despite getting a lesser purse, $2m was way more than he could hope to get against anyone else.

See I knew about Ward getting 5 mil but that's unbelievable that Kovalev only got paid 2 mil as the champion. My respect for Kovalev just doubled, he took the lowerend of the purse even though he's the champion to secure the big fights wow, talk about someone who really wants to cement their legacy (unlike a certain middleweight champion).

Kovalev understands in order to get big fights you have to make concessions and take a chance now if the fight sells well which I think it can and will he can ask for more money.

I agree its odd... but if its odd to us you can naturally assume that his team would have considered it more than members of a boxing forum, so I can only suppose they thought it would be fair and money became the main factor!

But now it's them screaming the decision isn't fair, so if I was Kovalev I would be taking a hard look at my team

I can agree to that, but at the same time the decision isnt the scandal its being made out to be; the levels of whining have hit great heights :sifone:

It wasn't either man could have got that decision and no one should really care kinda like the porter Thurman it was a tight fight which deserves a rematch. I think the outrage was caused by HBO biased commentary which clouded people's opinion.

It could have swung either way I guess and I scored two rounds even which would have have concurred with the official result if I had marked it Kovalev.....but I have to say the usual boxing forum autopsy we get after any big fight gets a little bit OTT...there must be about 600 threads about the same thing

Haha yeah there has been but I don't mind coz we actually got see a real meaningful legacy fight since May/Pac but this was better coz both guys are still close to there primes.
