How am I biased by mentioning the fouls? Look at them standing next to each other and also what they are billed at. They are the same height, have nearly the same reach. Kovalev is stronger, but it isn't like he's physically a monster compared to Ward. There is no no need to pretend that he overcame some big ass physical disadvantage in this fight because he didn't. Look at the fight and look at the way Ward comes in and where he punches Kovalev, just look at every action he does. He fouled all night. Kovalev fouled too but to a lesser extent and generally as a response to Ward fouling. Remember that blatant low blow Kovalev did in the...11th round I want to say? That was directly after Ward did the same to him while the ref said nothing. What makes you think that I am an alt or biased? I don't even like Kovalev, lol.
Why hate the man for three other people's mistake? This is the issue boxing has so much god damn bias no one wants to do what's best for the sport. Which is be mad at belt organizations be mad at the ****ing judges
You step up in weight to fight the most feared monster in boxing. You come back from a awful start where you get knocked down to win a razor thin decision. All you get is hate and keyboard warriors talking **** about you. Amazing.

Great post fella. It will go over the heads of some people here though. It's all black and white to them. Their guy won, it doesn't matter how. It's not like headlocks are Kovalev's 'thing'. He had to defend himself. I guarantee if he hadn't employed the odd headlock he would have got butted a few times. What surprised me most about this fight was how ineffective Ward looked.
Sorry man, that whole '175 Russian bogeyman/monster' picture that Ward and his boys are trying to paint is bs. Ward was the favourite going into the fight and was in no way dwarfed. The fact 50 year old BHop took Kov 12 rounds also says a lot. When someone scores a few crushing ko's, he quickly gets a reputation but I just never saw Kov like that. He's a boxer/puncher. The man has skills and his power is slightly overrated. Fact is, give Kov Wards power and he would still be one of the top guys at 175. Ward is trying to sell us a David/Goliath or Ali/Foreman when his fight with Kov was nothing like that.
Agreed but he just didn't get the credit for it. The narrative was set before the fight: Boxer vs Puncher. Kov was always going to struggle with the judges if he didn't ko Ward. In a lot of threads in this place, he is being painted as some slow, lumbering slugger with no ring iq. He deserves credit for a lot more than one shot in the 2nd round. If that's all he did before Ward made those infamous 'adjustments' like the amazing ring general that he is, how come even his loyal fans only had Ward winning by a point? Rematch needed then we can all move on.
Part of me hopes that Ward dominates a rematch and then gets jobbed just so we can see if anyone who's in here bitching about people moaning practices what they preach. My guess is we'd see just as many threads if it had been the other way round and Ward on the receiving end of a bad decision with 75-80% of the boxing world claiming he did more than enough to win.
The fans aren't all saying Kov won like when Sweetpea drew with Chavez and everyone knew Sweatpea won. Many fans picked both guys which is why this fight deserves a rematch. You guys have not given Ward any credit for even coming back after the knockdown. If you did I haven't read it anywhere. Wards fans haven't given credit to how Kov was able to keep throwing punches whether they landed or missed and keep Ward on the end of his shots the majority of the fight. To me it was a great fight. The only thing that I was kinda shocked at but not shocked shocked was that Kov looked bigger than Ward. This "Ward fans" tried to create the "Kov is the boogeyman" whatever, mofos you Kov fans created that **** when you said Kov would ko Ward. Well, that didn't happen and Ward's fans responded. Crying that Kov lost and attempting to say that Ward tried to foul and did foul at times is damn near psychotic. Foh. I knew that Kov would clinch, headlock, and if need be hold Ward or do what it took to get the ref to intervene when Ward got inside. You did too. The history of great fights shows that this is the type of **** that goes on in almost every great fight. That kinda **** tends to happen in a great fight. Did you see any blatant fouls? Did you really? You saw maybe a low blow and the ****en headlock-that's it. Neither was blatant or excessive which is why the ref didn't take any points. The ref did a great job by not penalizing either fighter. ****en cry babies aggravate the hell out of me trying to top each other with what you think is the best scientific outlook on this fight. ****en outsmarting yourselves and sounding stupid. Making mountains out of molehills. Ward got the decision and if he doesn't rematch Kov...he will be penalized in my book if he doesn't give Kov a rematch bottom line. And if you mofos think that im biased towards Ward, you can check the post history before the fight because I picked kov by ko.
