Ward will expose GGG - Golovkin is not tested yet

Discussion in 'World Boxing Forum' started by Stinky gloves, Jul 15, 2013.

  1. It doesn't mean anything to beat the "best" SMW's in a era like nowadays .. Froch and Kessler are NOTHING and Abraham was past his prime for several years.

how do you know froch and kessler "were nothing" when its GGG who hasnt stepped upand fought the best in his own division at 30 years of age?

i like the look of him as much as the next person, but dissing fighters who have proved their mettle means you are on a bandwagon that really hasnt been proven yet

I like GGG but I wouldn't even be sure if he would beat Martinez, the top dog in his own division. Why are people even talking about him fighting Ward? I don't get it.

I disagree. Ward is so much better than GGG it would be boring. GGG's defense is plain awful. Ward would pot shot him until the fight is stopped do to GGG's eyes being closed and cut. GGG fanboys better hope that fight never happens. The hero would be exposed.

Man get of GGG's dick. AA is a lot better than GGG. Ward would beat GGG's 75% white ass. GGG's defense is very bad and Ward has already noticed how easy GGG is to hit. Omua landed at will on GGG and made his face swell.

I think many forget that as a pro Golovkin has not yet fought in top world class.
Ward is in a weak era where MW SMW and LHW is not strong and what happens, he fights the LHW champ at SMW and now people are talking about what would happen if Ward fought an untested MW. This shows how weak the current era is at these weights

Its kind of weak because there is no real star who can be attributed as a real
champion so the guy like Ward has almost ATG status. The problem is lack of
consistency at top level, it seems someone is good but it turns out it was just an
accident (like Taylor, Dawson, Kessler, Bute), is not a p4p material (Abraham),
or have outside issues (Pavlik) so there is just a few quality opponents left
who are or seems to be real stars (Ward, GGG, Martinez) and its not bad to
test their capabilities to see whether they are not accidental.

    More amateur wins than Ward...
    More pro wins than Ward...
    More power than Ward...
    More KO's than Ward...
    More reach than Ward...
    More offense than Ward...
    More active than Ward...

Ward can't take cannon shots to the face, which will be Golovkins defense.

Abraham's problem is that he is not active early and his style requires some physical
advantage since he is not very fast either. GGG has no such problems and can bully
bigger guys with his speed and power ... Ward is however slick enough to neutralize that.

    1. GGG would give Ward a good fight, It's too close to call who would win.
    2. Why do people always want a fighter to move up and face the guy leading the weight class above him. GGG should stay at middle weight and dominate it Like hopkins did. Then after there is no one left worth fighting at middle weight then maybe move up.
    3. Most of the posters here just wan't to see someone give Ward a good fight, Maybe rough him up a Little.

    He's 1 for 1 with top 10 opponents.

Needs a whole lot more of that before I anoint him as anything other than a power punching, and so far one with no weaknesses, contender.

Tricky one that tho, ain't it? How about less proven skill than Ward?

I see in Golovkin a fighter with great ring sense, power with accuracy and a level of both generalship and skill which has yet to fully plumbed. With Ward he'd be facing a larger fighter of greater proven ability. I sure as hell wouldn't be looking for it in Golos shoes. But neither would I say he couldn't or wouldn't win.

It's a good fight for the future tho, surely.
