Dont get me wrong Ward is my boy, but this fight is totally different from any other previous fight where Taylor has been knocked out. Wards power is nowhere near Arthurs and Ward doesnt put the pressure like Froch. Taylor is usually pretty good against slick fighters cause he puts the jab in front of them all night and moves with them. This fight is gonna be close and competitive and I only have Ward up cause of his workrate and endurance.

If you think this will be an easy 3 points then you are mistaken. Im not saying that JT will win but he can easily be a nightmare for Ward. You are writing JT off because he got koed in the 12th by Froch and Abraham and lost 2 fights to Pavlik?, one of which was fight of the year

JT OBVIOUSLY has problems finishing but you can never write a guy off like that this easily.

I prefer Ward in this match up but as they say styles makes fights. It won't be easy.

Well, even if Ward has decent power... Abraham may be the pound for pound hardest hitter in the sport...

I really want to see Jermain Taylor bounce back, and Im even a fan of Wards after the last fight, and Arthur Abraham is probably my second favorite active fighter behind Mosley... But I will be rooting for Taylor in this tournament I believe, if he isnt going to leave, which may be best, than Ill root for him. The guy really deserves it, he has given us some great fights, both Pavlik fights, Winky, hell, he even gave Abraham a pretty good fight, and probably would have won the Froch fight if he didnt get KO'd.. He beat Hopkins, but I am not saying that was giving us fans great fights, haha.

I think we have to take styles into account here. Look at Jermain Taylors last couple of losses: Kelly Pavlik, Carl Froch, Arthur Abraham. Now first things first these are all guys with heat in their right hands. These are also all guys with 12 round stamina. Pav and Froch apply pressure from round 1 to 12 and Abraham is a guy who becomes a raging bull once he gets you in trouble, Taylor has no problems in outboxing these guys early but once that fatigue sets in and the hands start dropping he becomes a sitting duck to those giant right hands.

Andre Ward is a different fighter from the above, he's crafty, he's smart, he's effectively agressive, he moves well, he's got quick hands and reflexes....match-up nightmare for just about anyone else, but Taylor is a guy who had Bernard Hopkins' number. Both Hopkins and Ward have the above characteristics but neither have the one punch KO power that those guys had. The toll those big punches have on Taylor's body show in the latter rounds, I don't quite think Ward is a guy who will hurt Taylor in that manner. Stylistically the 2 Americans are probably Taylors best matchups...

I agree on that. movers and slick guys have never given jermain problems.
It seems that the fighters that have vanquished JT are bangers. With that being said, ward is a big supermiddle who can move very well. I see taylor lasting the 12, but losing a clear cut UD to the better figher in Ward.

As I have said from the start, Ward is the most complete fighter in the super-six. And yes he can put more pressure on a fighter then Froch and AA because unlike froch he can actaully land a high percentage of his shots, and he is far more active then AA. This fight with Ward will be no different then any others that Taylor has had, he will do ok at the start and get whipped down the road, and most likely stopped.

Im not sure why people seem to think that Taylor will be a tougher matchup then anyone eles for Ward, i just dont see it. In fact Ward and Dirrell are to two that Taylor will do the worst against. It will be the two fights in which he will not have a speed advantage. This is a prize fight and as such every fighter has a SHOT in every fight, but I dont like Taylors shot vs ward.

:admin Did you miss the Spinks fights??? Many felt that Spinks beat Taylor, what about his fight with Wright??? same story...No problems with Slick fighter??? he has only fought two and many felt that he lost both. Both were jr middles, niether had close to the power and Size as ward.

Taylor's back is to the wall do or die I expect Taylor to maybe fight the bravest fight of his career here he needs a stoppage to secure a spot in the final 4. Ward is a good fighter but I dont think he brings the style Taylor struggles with

I'd love to see Taylor smash Ward. Would turn the tournament upside down, again!

Taylor might beat Ward, but I think Ward's referee will allow him to use his head over and over again. It will be in Ward's home town with Ward's own personal referee.
