Not like froch and kessler, not like last night, he will never feel that from the crowd.

He'sa great boxer, but nobody cares, he ccan't do that he's all about sucking the life out of fights

Boxing is a spectator sport, and ward is not entertaining

I don't see what's not entertaining about Ward. He beats the **** out of fighters. He clinches but doesn't spend the whole fight there. He ****ed Kessler up with blitzing offense for 12 rounds, rocked Froch's dome from side to side with combinations, speared Dawson's head back with jabs before uppercutting him n the ropes and dropped him 2 times...

Stoppages are what's missing for him. But if he fights either of them again, I would not be surprised if he got them.

It's true Ward will probably never be a big draw or star. He has a spoiler style and lacks one punch power and just like the Klitschko's is so much better than anyone else his fights are always one sided so lack drama.

Ward will need to depend upon the fighters around him for big purses much like Hopkins and Mayweather did.

Unfortunately those who appreciate the skill Ward clearly possess are in the minority. Ward will have is hard core followers like Hopkins but they will be a small group.

Most fans just want the brutality and violence they cannot appreciate the more subtle changes is tactics and skills fighter like Ward so often display, which is a real shame.

Im partial to fighters like Froch who overcome with sheer tenacity and grit, but boxing purists (and Im also one of them) can appreciate Ward for his immense skills. On the whole though I agree Ward will never be as popular unless he starts having Roy Jones like dominance. Still doesn't diminish how good he is though.

You must find it really disturbing that he's easily the best super middleweight in the world and one of the top 3 p4p fighters and beat both Froch and Kessler rather easily. :hi:

OP, I know what you mean, of course, but I was massively entertained by Ward-Dawson. The guy has it in him, he just chooses not to use it.

Jesus was very good at entertaining crowds. Black Jesus is not.

Those that compare him to Floyd are off-base: Floyd may not go for the kill, but he's a lot of fun to watch. He moves like a ballerina, and when he does land, it's usually a stinging shot.

Ward's movement, while technically impressive, is NOT so "pretty," and the bulk of his punches are thrown with the sole purpose of racking up points. You have to be a SERIOUS boxing fan to appreciate / enjoy what he does.

Additionally, for better or worse, Ward will NEVER have Floyd's personality out of the ring. Your typical tax accountant is less boring than Andre Ward.
