Why won't Andre Ward, who just weightdrained Chad Dawson, fight the middleweight champion at a catchweight? Four pounds is not going to break his career.

Ward is a big Super Middleweight. He can not make 164lbs IMO.

    Andre Ward:

“I don’t think so [getting a fight with Sergio Martinez] for the moment due to the weight difference and size difference''.

''So at the moment I don’t realistically think that fight [against Sergio Martinez] is going to be made. I think I would be very strong at the weight [175].

, so I know the fighters at light heavyweight would be even bigger. But I know the ideal situation is to go to 175 and not come back down. There’s not a lot of options at 168. So in the coming weeks my team and I need to put our heads together and get creative in terms of what’s going to be next.”

Glad to hear he's happy to move up immediately after draining down the top guy in that division. Blah blah blah Dawson said he was willing to after the Hopkins fight. Doesn't change the fact that Ward refused a catchweight when it was proposed during actual negotiations and will look really bad if he immediately moves up in weight.
