Man, j'te dis un beau ****in jour j'vas me tanner de répondre à ces écartés-là (sauf Elvis) saint ciboire.....

Not what he said. He said Froch would be a good draw and sees the fight possible in the US after Froch's badmouthed Bute, and that Ward might not want to fight Bute right away (but still "a man who's true to his word"). Read between the lines if you want, that's what he said.

Especially after Bute, Larouche and Bédard came out with statements about Bute fighting in the US in 2012, Bute desperately wanting to get at the S6 winner, Bute's dream to be in a mega fight at MSG... yeah, your post makes sense. Virgil Hunter completely dismissed Bute in interviews, you gotta take that into account too. "He's fought nobody" comes up every week. It's like he absolutely needs to beat Ward, Froch or Kessler (and I'll throw Dirrell in there to reflect my other post) in order to qualify for a "He's fought someone of note" statement. Anthony Dirrell actually thinks he's been fighting lots of Canadians... :rofl

Most Bute fans want him to face one of Ward, Froch or Kessler for 2012. Is it asking too much?

Bute-Pascal makes ZERO economic sense right now, has never made sense financially considering both are #1 cash cows for fragile promoting organizations. Bute-Pascal will happen when one of the two will need to cash in on their career, or when Bute moves up to LHW quite simply.

I'll take the "checks" as a compliment because you emulated my post to address your standpoint. :D

Froch has been stated as saying he'd fight Pascal again after the S6, however I think he was keeping his options open in case Pascal beat Hopkins in their second fight.

I think win or lose Carl Froch will go after Hopkins personally as it would be massive and bigger than a Bute fight.

I'll commit on a few predictions, always a fun thing to do. Let's assume both Dirrell and Taylor look in good shape on Dec 30th. :thumbsup

    Spring 2012

    Kessler-Stieglitz (the only 'given', here)
    Ward-Ton Dirrell (mando)
    Bute-Dre Dirrell
    Taylor-Johnson
    Froch -- resting

    Summer/Fall 2012

    Ward-Froch rematch
Bute-Taylor with the IBF stripping Bute for not fighting Andrade III... also ends Taylor's career.
Kessler-Abraham where AA's cashing in, ending his career not being able to make MW again.
    Dirrell -- resting

    Winter 2012-13

    Bute-Ward
Kessler-Froch rematch with Dirrell in line to face the winner...

Showtime is not going to be excited to put Dirrell back on the air, no matter how good he looks in December and no matter how much of a step up he would or would not actually be. They'll especially not want to put him in with Bute for the last part of their extremely dumb three-fight contract. That gives Dirrell a payday when he almost derailed their entire tournament and it will allow Bute to demand a contract and even more to fight Ward/Froch. Further, HBO could even try to get back into the game at 168 or at least try to drive up the cost to Showtime for airing that fight.

The promoters of Bute, Ward, and Froch have no reason to make Bute/Super Six winner immediately, but Showtime absolutely does, and if and when it doesn't happen, I'm sure they'll be quite selective about opponents.

DL: Provided you win the Super Six, are you looking at a fight with Lucian Bute if Bute beats Glen Johnson?

VH: Not necessarily. Showtime promised Mikkel Kessler a fight with the Super Six winner. I think Bute should really beat a Carl Froch or an Andre Dirrell, because it would make the fight more interesting [Editor's note: Dirrell has not fought since defeating Abraham and has health concerns]. He should either fight the guy who loses in the finals or he should fight a guy who is Super Six caliber. I don’t think he should get rewarded with the Super Six winner and just hop, skip and jump over high end competition.

Funny thing is, while Kessler was Ring #1, Bute Ring #2 was rematching Andrade Ring #5 (was #3 in 1st fight) in fukkin 2009. Ward was barely a prospect at the time.

How things have changed after a real mess of a tourney...

And, LMAO @ Johnson not being S6 caliber.

Purephrase -- good points. SHO will battle HBO for SMW's once the S6 is over with. Hopefully it doesn't prevent fights between Ward/Froch/Kessler/Bute from happening.

Ward will beat Bute and all English (maybe Scotish also) will be frustrated. Then Bute will beat Froch and you guess who feels how.

I wouldn't pay too much attention to that, to be honest. It's a little early to accuse either side of ducking.

1: Kessler-Stieglitz is no longer a given. Stieglitz will make a gimme defense in January against Henry Weber.

2: I don't think that Ward will have mandatory obligations as a superchamp straight out of a unification.

The rest is possible although I don't find a Kessler-Abraham fight likely.
