LOL, that's like saying when I (God) called everyone to hand out brains, Bute misheard me and thought I said "It's gonna rain" and ran up under the Maple tree.

So we agree on Green. OK

Abraham. No need for hindsight. If the Ward - Abraham fight hadn't been part of a tournament, it wouldn't have taken place. After the Dirrel debacle, where Abraham lost by DQ and after being battered from pillar to post by Carl Froch, there is no way Abraham would have gotten a title shot right away under normal circumstances.
But, the tournament needed an opponent for its semifinal match and Abraham got the position by default.
That's why it can be considered a stay-busy fight.
(I guess you meant pre-tournament, it wasn't apparent that Arthur would be over-matched, but pre-fight, going by his performances against Dirrell and Froch, it was clear as day.)

Bika. Andre Ward's third opponent in the tournament pulled out. The other participants had matches against each other. Ward has two options.
    1. Do nothing. Sit on his hands while the other guys fight each other.
    2. "Stay busy" by fighting against someone not in the tournament.
Hence, Bika IS a stay-busy fight in this context. I'm not saying he's an easy fight, but that fight is the exact definition of "stay-busy". :thumbsup

Incidentally, had Ward not been forced by the tournament to fight twice-loser Abraham, he might have had to defend against his mandatory, who was Brian Magee at that time.

So Bute was, in effect, not only taking care of his mandatories, but everyone else's as well. What more can you ask?

Bute said he didn't want a brain unless it could be delivered in Montreal. :D

1- WTF, I thought the initial contract (for the Nov 5th fight) obligated both parties to reschedule... would that be some sort of Sauerland payoff to SES to void the contract?

2- Maybe not, but look no further for a homecoming, easy-ish defense. That, and it gets him the check in the box mando wise.

...would you not like to see Kessler retire Abraham, though? :D

Dirrell has lots of brains but went to the Wizard to trade it in for a heart

And when he came back home, he realized he left both his brain and his heart to the Wizard.. ;)
