I think he's counting Dubois' WBA Regular belt he won off Trevor Bryan as his "first" title reign, which would be vomit-inducing if so
Dubois takes this, Wardley is technically worse than Joshua and Hrgovic, he barely made it against Huni, remember this Dubois will knock him out...
just to say about ur huni point. From a pure technical boxing stand point, Huni is better than dubois. Huni just lacks power and has a glass chin. Style wise i reckon he'd give dubois problems the same way he did wardley, not saying huni beats dubois but those are the style match ups i'd reckon dubois would avoid himself.
Also Joshua left himself open, should have been waved off by the ref in the first round and never recovered. Hrgovic is a slow plodder that went against a younger faster dubois that ruffed him up. yeah hrgovic is technically more sound than Wardley but lets not forget adeleye (a british level fighter that Wardley knocked out) nearly KO'd him. I think anyone with speed gives him problems at some point only saying that to say dubois himself didn't win out of high ring IQ. he was the younger, faster, more powerful fighter. If wardley was gonna win against those guys it would likely be in similar fashion as dubois. I wouldn't be too confident on what either side ur choosing.
2. Wardleys wild punching could cost him and likewise DuBois jaw either way I think it will be a barnburner while it lasts Usyk ducking wardley
Can see multiple knockdowns in this one either way. If I had to pick, I'd go with Wardley, slightly more battle-hardened, not as chinny, and has a much bigger heart. Could easily be a FOTY candidate. Great work from Bricktop.
I'm not sure at this point that there's anyone I would take over Dubois if you are easily hittable. Hrgovic and Miller were both still standing in the end, but they both have very, very good chins. Dubois will be able to force Wardley back with the jab, keep him honest, and take him out late. I think Dubois also has a bit better engine, as Wardley tends to look more ragged late on in fights despite getting the job done in both of his recent fights. I will say a 10th-round KO in a highly entertaining and, in spots, highly competitive fight. Dubois will do just about enough to win the majority of the rounds in a fight that will be more competitive than the scorecards suggest, before Wardley loses his shape trying to catch up and gets taken out against the more structured Dubois. Either way fair play to Fabio for taking the best fights unlike the ''most deserving'' Kabayel fighting mediocrity in Deutschland.
Who can pick it. After Usyk KO'd Dubious twice, all bets should be off on him. On any given night he can be KO'd by even moderate punchers and/or quit. At the same time he can blast people out if he lands. But if Wardley wins, I think Usyk might have to fight him since the Dubious wins will look like nothing much.
Awesome bout. Wardleys habit of turning his body and head awkwardly away from shots, with his hand down, is not a good look against such a strong relentless power jabber like Dubious. For Wardley to win this he needs to take DDD to the later rounds and gut it out of him. And improve his defense, obviously. Can't wait to tune into this.
