Ward's best win was beaten by Dirrell 2 years prior?

I've learned a few things today from the fanatical supporters of Ward.

    1) Kovalev is a bum and should Ward win it won't do much to boost his resume

    2) Wards resume is somehow miles better than Kovalevs.... Despite the fact that he's done nothing for the last 3-4 years.

We'll see if that statement is still true after the Kovalev fight.

Dirrel did outbox Froch in that fight. I think he was robbed of a win. But, Froch kind of manhandled Dirrel though. Froch didn't feel like he lost that fight.

But, Ward beat him completely, on the inside and outside, and gave him a boxing lesson. That Ward loss had him putting off a rematch (that he claimed to want) and made him admit he was 2nd best, even years after.

    Agree.

I'm no Froch fan but as an Englishman wanted him to beat Dirrell. But I had Dirrell winning 116-112, plus he hurt Froch.

Ward had his way with Froch and I never bought into Froch really wanting the rematch. Froch gained himself some points by calling Ward's bluff by wanting it in Nottingham. Knowing deep down Ward in fact holidays in Oakland.

Few would call Kovalev a bum. The guy can fight his a$$ off. But, Ward is considered "special". There is a difference. Should Ward beat him, he will get full credit, except from the Ward haters, who will then turn on Kovalev, call Ward boring, a coward, a runner etc. Just like we saw with Crawford after he easily outboxed Postol.

Ward's resume overall is a great deal better. But, his body of work over the last few years is in no way better than Kovalev's. Although Kovalev's is not exactly jaw dropping.

Froch would have been interested in trying to get revenge if Ward wasnt such a boring spoiler

"He'd probably beat me again but it would be a boring fight"

Instead he gave us a war and a HL reel KO as his last 2 fights

Sorry. But, no. He knew he would LOSE, that is why he didn't want the rematch. Nothing more. If he thought he really had a chance, it wouldn't matter how "boring" Ward was. There would have been enough demand for it, especially in the UK.
