Ward's decision to fight Chad instead of Bute?

Because not everyone chases dollars ! Some fighters actually chase greatness !!

 

It's easy to say that now after he lost to Froch, but at the time Bute was rated #2 in their division and higher on the P4P list than Dawson, who hadn't really done anything to redeem himself after losing to Pascal.

It's a moot point anyway as he could have easily fought Bute to clean up his division and then moved up in weight to fight Dawson, instead he chose to duck Bute and have Dawson come down a division where he won't get anywhere near the credit if he beats him.

 

Dawson was always more of a threat than an unproven Bute ..
