I've not looked too much in to this issue (if it even exists), but I assume Ward won't be having all his fights in his back yard will he? He's had the benefit of having home support for two fights in a row now, the latter I take it was only due to Green being a late entrant in to the competition (which is fair enough).

However, will things be put in place so that Ward has his equal share of away fights?

His camp refused to enter comp unless they got all 3 fights at home, after this round im not sure how it works tho.

Seriously?! Then surely he should fight his semi-final (and maybe even final) on away territory?

I think that comes down to points, unfortunately. :-(

SHO should force him to fight on away turf, or at least neutral turf in the semis.

Not sure what type of deal if any he has for the next rounds, but as you say if he gets them at home its a disgrace.

I don't think the venue of the Ward-Dirrell match has even been determined. Dirrell has asked for a neutral site. Possibly Vegas.

It's where ever they can sell the most tickets though, probably.

Hmmm. well considering how much of an influence the location of fights have had on performances and results, it would be extremely unfair if some have experienced the burden of fighting on foreign soil in crucial stages of the tournament, whilst another has had the home-town comfort in his first 3 fights!

If he's facing any of the Europeans in the semis and finals, I think he should be made to fight on their turf (depending on who those Europeans are of course, how many home fights they've had). If not, at least put the final in a neutral venue like Vegas

It's already been determined that the finals will be in the U.S. So the semis would be the only time Ward may have to fight on foreign soil. Goosen says he's willing to have Ward fight Dirrell outside of Oakland as long as it makes financial sense.

Come on Tal. Source for that please. Unless you are referring to having all his fights in the US. From what I understand, Ward/Dirrell might very well take place in Michigan, or even a neutral site. But that's just speculation.

Well i admit i cant find initial link now and to be fair at first i didnt take much notice myself but after both of his initial fights have been at home and no other fighters has it does seem to be following what ive read. Seeing how Froch and AA managed to cry enough to get the "speculated" agreement changed it will be interesting to see if the third fight does indeed happen in the same place.

Here is closest thing i can find tho

"Like I said to you before, and I don’t apologize for it—my team has done a great job in negotiations. It’s not a knock on any of the other promoters, it’s not a knock on anyone. I’m just speaking facts. They did what they had to do and secured home field advantage. It is what it is, but at the end of the day I still have to go out there and perform"
