Don't talk absolute ****. You are talking total utter **** mate.
The fact is Bute was considered the 'next man' after the super six. People had him either 1 or at least 2 in the world. It didn't ****ing matter what Ward had just done, that is all excuses. The winner of the Super 6 was meant to fight to fight, everyone knew that, everyone expected that, that was basically an implied condition. It was THE next and only logical step post S6 for the winner. It was therefore frankly astonishing that Ward then turned around and said 'I don't want to'. That was a ***** move you can spin it whatever way you want but that was a ***** move. The fact Bute turned out to be a hype job is irrelevant because did not know this at the time. The world thought Bute was the real deal and a massive threat, so as a result Ward decided he didn't want a part of that and pulled the ever so convenient 'you haven't earned it' card to get out of a natural fight he was fully expected by all to take but like a ***** he did not. Instead he allowed Froch who DOES have a pair of coconuts, to do his dirty work for him.

And what did this leave Ward with? Well the stupid **** saw a load of good money and praise that he could have had, go to Froch, and now Ward is in the position of having NO opponents worth fighting in either division
And now...after all that the guy want Chevez Jr

After the super6 Ward was inavtive. He had a broken hand and didn't fight for almost a year. How was he meant to fight Bute when he was out injured?.....He was the main man and just won the super6. Why would he dance to Bute's tune and get into the ring with him while he was injured??....Did Bute and Ward ever even have proper negotiations? No never, it was Bute's team sprouting hot air.....They weren't serious about Ward and went after Froch who they though would be a big name easy win.

Again more garbage. So he was 'injured' was he now? Well why didn't he say that at the time? He never said 'I'm not fightin Bute because I'm injured' he said 'I'm not fighting Bute because he hasn't earned it'

Ward didn't want it. Don't try and point out that it only didn't happen because he was 'injured'. Ward didn't want it at the time because he thought Bute might haw been for real. Bute took the Froch fight because what else should he have done? It was the next best fight since Ward had pulled a ***** move. And Bute still went to Froch backyard to make that happen so dont talk about 'dancing to Butes tune' because I'm sure Bute would have done what was necessary to make that fight happen even if it meant going to Jokeland.
Ward NEVER travels. He doesn't have that courage.

You see this is the thing about Ward... He wants that big PPV money but he WON'T go to Canada, England or Demark to get it.
He wants to call shots but basically he can't draw flies to **** because he boring as all ****.
He wants the world but not if it means conceding anything, despite the fact he is NOT an attraction or money maker in this sport at all.

I find it funny how we fight fans hang onto every word a given fighter spews out. I'm guilty of it too, but its gotta stop. Fact is, particularly in this sport, fans aren't privy to much information when it comes to "missed" matchups. Negotiations have a habit of turning sour very quickly and we're left, as fans, to speculate on what took place. A good majority if the time, it's a "he said-- he said" type of scenario where we have to take an individuals word at face value, when we all know there's three sides to every story.

I disagree that Ward is/was scared of any fighter. He's had proven no such thing. Additionally, I don't place too much stock in the notion that Dawson was drained. I don't mean to minimize the fact that he did come down in weight, but the rumor is he got sparked while preparing for the fight with Ward. Of course, this could lend credence to the notion of a weight drained fighter. However, I am finding that hard to believe for some reason. I've long suspected Chad's proper ranking. The fact that Ward annihilated him and he was rocked during sparing only solidifies my opinion of him.

It is pretty ridiculous that Ward never took on Bute after the S6.

Its funny how Ward is rated so highly for really a win over Kessler, who was past best, rusty, hadnt fought a top world class SMW for 3 years and was unwell with vision problems.
Calzaghe beat Kessler when undefeated and on better form.

I guess alot of it is due to the S6 making people aware of the fighters with great marketing

Kessler hadn't fought anybody in 40 fights before Joe beat him.

Excellent post. This is what Ward said about fighting Bute after the S6 had finished.

“I believe it will be made at some point, but I do believe he has to beat some good fighters. He needs to beat one or two good guys, A-level guys, and even in some cases come out of his hometown and do it to get a shot,” Ward told On the Ropes radio. “I think with some of the talk lately about me ducking him, I think after the schedule that the combatants in the Super Six have been on in the past two years, it’s really foolish to even bring up the notion that somebody is ducking Bute. I mean that’s just not the case. Like I said, I believe that’s a fight that should be made and will be made, but at the same time we have to be smart in this game.”

The flip in his comments before the S6 had finished and after are quite laughable, nearly as much as the comment about Bute having to take fights out of his hometown.
