Ward's resume is already better than Calzage and Steve Ottke.

If Ward wins the super six like some believe he will his resume would surpass Joe Calzage and Steve Ottke. Also, Ward is still a young fighter and Bute is still out there so the sky is the limit if he keeps this up. I believe this kid is on his way to the elite status like Pacman and Floyd.

Headbutting clinching and ducking below the waistline is hardly the mark of an elite fighter.

    Elite level cheat maybe.

Kessler - Already suffering from double vision and inactivity, Ward was a stylistic nightmare for him to begin with.

Green - Not an elite supermiddle weight, already had a loss to Miranda going into the super6.

Abraham - Coming off 2 defeats to Dirrell and then Froch, most impressive victory being Taylor, another Middleweight moving up.

Bika - Already beaten more clearly by Calzaghe a few years prior.

Sorry but he beats Ottke's resume but he has away to go yet, beating Froch will be a big step in the right direction though.

No, but beating all the other so called 'top' SprMWs will do that.

Ward has great potential. Do not mention Calzaghe and Ottke on the same level again please. Ottke was a talentless fraud. Calzaghe was a talented fighter who simply lacked defining fights, which wasn't really his fault. Lastly, its Calzaghe not Calzage, and Sven Ottke, not Steve Ottke. It really does not sound like you have the best boxing knowledge at all man...

No Calzaghe and Ottke both retired undefeated with 20 plus defenses of their titles

Ward isnt undisputed lineal or ring champ

and winning the tourney leaves him to have to beat Bute

Ward has to reign for 9 or 10 yrs get some title defenses and then beat the champ at the weight above then we'll talk

I agree with the thread starter. and you idiots need to understand, holding a title for ten years means nothing if you only fought 3 legitimate contenders the whole time.

Why does every nuthuger on this site forget Kessler fought Froch with so called "double vision" too. So if that diminishes Wards win what does that say about Froch?

It says that 2 warriors went to war and one of them came out victorious, without resorting to fouls. Both their stocks went up after that. Where as Ward's (apart from in Oakland) went down and started building up a reputation of him as a dirty fighter.

Also shows Froch had the balls to travel to Denmark, where have all of Wards fights been? please remind me.

    Next question......

Ok but what does that have to do with Kessler fighting half blind against Froch (as i read some of Ward haters say) If Kessler underperformed because he was impaired against ward it should count against Froch's performance. Unless that excuse can only be used when its convinient for the Kessler and Froch fans.
