It's a classic example of misdirection..... 'Look over here at Ward'.... meanwhile former fans bury Kovalev's career under the patio and double check how to spell Beterbiev. Next!

Alright we'll have to agree to disagree. I think a fighter can add weight and grow into a weight class to the point where he can become a full fledged fighter there, you seem to disagree with this basic premise so there's no point in continuing this argument any further.

Ward should come out of retirement and fight Alvarez.

People don’t understand how mentally strong Andre, 99% of fighters who got dropped by Kovalev and lost the early rounds, they would try to survive but he rallied back to get that contraversial decision.

    Poor me? No, poor you.

Kovalev will always be remembered as SOG's son.

Not too shabby, being the grandkid of a God and son of a demigod.

you think Ward should avenge his son like olly mcall did? interesting.

of course there would be only a point in that fight, there would be no revenge in facing beterbiev and therefore ZERO need to face beterbiev.

If Ward came back and beat Álvarez, you clowns wouldn’t know what to do with yourselves.

    Complex issue.

I don't think Ward gained a lot in the first place because he lost the first Kovalev in every way a fighter can lose anyway. Knocked down...landed fewer punches... It should have been a great Ali-Frazier type series, and instead, it was a waste of time that sticks in a lot of people's side. Perfect example of how losing honestly can be better than a bad win.

Insofar as he made good the second time out, no, this subtracts nothing. Same thing as Calzaghe beating Lacy. They got the opponent when he was hot an no one wanted to fight him. It is hardly the same if they were never the same after.

To me Ward is exactly where he was before Saturday--a minor great who defeated some good fighters and remained undefeated, but not without controversy. I wish him well. If he wants to stay retired, he should do that and enjoy his money. If he wants to come back, there is a certain cruiser out there who won a similar series as Ward who would make a great fight...
