    No, not all boxers "get caught" and hit the deck fanboy. Those with solid chins remain vertical, those with less than sturdy whiskers hit the deck.

    Face it fanboy, Ward has questionable punch resistance. He's been put on ***** street by far less fighters than Kovalev.

    How do you account for the fact Kovalev was dropped by the same guy as Ward, and that Kovalev has been dropped more times than Ward as a pro?

    Both of these guys have been unable to remain vertical in the past, yet you favor the man who's failed to remain vertical more often?

    True, however, I think Kovalev is far more likely to be able to take advantage of Ward's suspect chin than vice versa.:yep

    Kovalev wasn't hurt one bit by Caparello.... He was knocked off balance.

    Yep. The only thing he succeeded in doing was enraging krusher, who came out like a bull and finished him in the next round. Probably saved him from what would have been an extended beating oddly enough :lol:

    Who's to say Caparello couldn't legitimately drop Ward though, after all, he dropped Andre Dirrell, who was legitimately shook up from a Caparello left. I could see him landing on Ward and dropping him with a shot like this.:deal

    And for the record, I think Kovalev and Ward both have fairly good chins as far as that sort of thing goes.

    Maybe... But I think Ward wins a dull decision like he did against Brand. Caparello would be cagey as hell, but wouldn't have enough to cause Ward any real trouble.

    The difference in power is quite substantial in this match-up. The difference in skill, less so. People still seem to underrate Sergey Kovalev's actual boxing skill. He's not just an explosive, demoralizing power puncher. He's also very shrewd, coordinated and has very solid footwork & balance in there. Ward is going to get hit -- how he handles that power early will tell us a lot about the way the rest of the fight unfolds.

    Kovalev has elevated his game every time he's been in a perceived "big-time" fight. Ward has done the same in times past... but he's the one moving up a new weight division and doing so following a few layoffs and injuries. Based on what each fighter brings to the table right now, Ward is going to have a really hard time with him.

    Along with skill (and obviously Chin), I truly believe power is a necessary attribute to have for anyone to hoping to stop the Kovalev pain train. He might've looked off against (the underrated) Chilemba to some people, but he still won a wide decision.
