Sounds to me like Virgil wants Golovkin to quit crushing the TOMATO CANs a fight someone with a pulse.

    Lol...

he speaks the truth. fans are quick to jump on bandwagons. i've seen flaws in ggg for quite some time...even though i've been a fan since i first saw him in '03.

there's a reason lara recently called him out....

there's a reason sergio wants to fight him after cotto....

they see those same flaws. they believe they can capitalize on them.

like kovalev, ggg's days are numbered.

Yes, at 160 he should be able to knock out the "A-League" (Sturm, Martinez, Quillin).

knock out wins over those guys still don't put him on equal negotiating terms with ward.

GGG will fight Ward but after he'll grab that WBC MW title from Martinez - Cotto winner. Being the MW king , Golovkin would have more bargain and drawing power into a fight with Ward ! :good

Exactly. In fact I think GGG's more likely to get KO's than Ward at any weight. If Golovkin moved up to 168 or 175 he'd be more likely to get KO's there than Ward imo. He's just a more offensive, harder punching fighter.

The A league Hunter is talking about isn't even all that. Kessler was pretty decent but the rest aren't really anything to shout about.

    True.

It's just much too bad he hasn't yet given up his hobby of crushing TOMATO CANs...

How is it an "anti G" thread? Is Hunter's assessment somehow wrong, untruthful or malicious?

sturm is past his best....so is martinez....never really thought much of quillen.

none of those guys are on the level of guys like...

    kessler when ward beat him.

    froch when ward beat him.

u can argue tht martinez was better than both...but at this point in time...not so much.

Wins over those three fighters by knockout would probably make him much more popular than Ward though.

Going by the HBO ratings for their last fights... I think he already is. "Much more" would be hard to reach in terms of US popularity.
