I agree and think others are better than most middles. Groves, baiko, are better than the others at middle i think there more depth at smw

SMW had those two. MW has Martinez who is still more highly rated p4p than either of them.

    yep
MW is very poor at the moment for me
would've loved to see GGG in the mix with the taylor's, pavlik's and prime Sergio's of not that long ago

Kessler seems to be retired. Martinez is better than Froch and I think it's very debatable whether Groves and Bika are better than all the other middleweights.

If Golovkin were to beat an ole Martinez at the end of 2014 - no way in hell would a win over an ole Sergio be better than Ward's win over a younger and fresher Froch.

    Stop smoking the crack...

whether Martinez is still rated or not is a moot point really
with all the injuries and inactivity it could easily be a 'hollow win' for GGG if Martinez does fight him after cotto - but still a very important one

not to take anything away from GGG - beating Martinez ticks the box he must be craving - because once GGG inherits Martinez's crown, he then becomes a powerful player in boxing....a genuine world champion with network backing and a HEAP of notoriety (even if the opposition isn't that great - it won't matter)

expect to see fighters moving up, or even down, to challenge him once (if) he holds all those marbles

I think ward would beat GGG by wide UD, he's naturally bigger and stronger fighter. Warsd has already established himself as one of the best p4p fighter , while GGG mostly fought bums. But if they'll ever fight I'm sure GGG will get his 50% , even if ward is making more money right now , that will change soon, as good as Ward is he's boring and even if GGG hasn't proved himself as the best yet he's very exciting and already more people watch GGG than Andre. GGG has net worth more than andre and we all know in this business you can be as good as rigo , but if you have no fans , you simply can't make money.

evn i (ggg lover) agree with hunter, ggg hasnt had the "names" yet but when he does in the MW division he will crush them all by tko/ko.
once he moves up to 168 there are some that go the distance. this dude is a 12 round fighter when he finally gets someone who can take his power round after round..

but yes, you need the names before you can claim even terms. i bet ggg does better ratings which is something no one can over look..
dude is a A + level technically great beast of a fighter

I think that all depends on how Sergio looks against Cotto.

If Martinez looks good vs Cotto it definitely would. He'd be beating the best in his division (Froch never was) and a more highly ranked p4p fighter who is faster p4p, more powerful p4p and more skillful.

So if GGG were to beat a Martinez coming off an impressive win over Cotto, GGG would have a win better than anything on Ward's resume.

ward has reigned longer and has the better resume. golovkin can clean out his weak division. it won't put him on the same level as ward.

    fcuk popularity.

    how soon ppl forget....

ward was not even supposed to win the super six tournament. he did so in impressive fashion shutting out some world class fighters.

golovkin has beat a bunch of guys he's supposed to beat. does that not register with some of you? none of the guys he's been fighting are even on his level.

I suppose being an undefeated gold medalist who supposedly hasn't lost a fight am or pro since he's 12 made him an underdog ? :think

i picked ward to win the whole thing. it was the "experts" who were picking kessler, abraham and froch.

Agree with Hunter, as far as accomplishments, Ward is top 3 p4p for that reason, but can't ignore GGG's presence. He's steamrolling decent B, C level fighters in just about every fight an A level fighter would. Yes these are the big leagues, but his amateur pedigree can't be overlooked. Its not just his power, but his pressure and skills fighters gotta worry about. I think we all waiting for that other A level to challenge him and see if he's the real deal.
