As much as I like wathing GGG fight Ward beats him. I dont think anyone can beat Ward from 160 - 175.

Of course you can't just go to another champion and say "Yes, we are both champions, but I reigned longer and defeated better opponents, so I want to dictate the terms and get more money". And all that talk about "weak" and "strong" divisions, it's laughable. If someone is the champion, he is the champion, you either have a fight like 2 champions or don't clown around. Ward is not established as a worldwide known champion (neither is GGG), so it would be a ridiculous thing to do, just like Golovkin could just say "I am more popular and drew more viewers, my terms or nothing".

So yes, they'll either fight like 2 champions or they won't fight. And that's all assuming Golovkin actually defeats Sergio and becomes the middleweight champ.

Unfortunately, when Abel talks about "equal footing", popularity is exactly what he's talking about. If Golovkin is able to unify 160 and look like a beast in doing so, it will make it much easier to demand an equitable split with Ward and convince HBO to strongarm Ward into an equitable split. Ward is very much a student of Hopkins, and that includes overestimating his market power. An explosively popular Golovkin could create enough market pressure on Ward to make concessions he otherwise wouldn't.

I enjoy watching GGG. He can't control his crazy fans. But he has a point. GGG is still untested. He is alreay over 30. Why is he still a contender at his age?? The same castefootball people the hypes GGG bashes Wilder and we know why. Both guys are untested.

BS. He fought in his home town for crissakes. GGG fights in all over the world, Ward can't seem to leave CA. Ward should prove hi mettle and rematch Kessler in Denamark as the first fight was a foul-filled joke.:hi::deal

Any negotiating HAS to be on equal footing as Ward brings NO $$ to the table. Sanchez is actually being very gracious here.

yeah, the nowadays MW division is shot. Probably if GGG would've beaten a prime Taylor, Pavlik and Martinez we could've said that he beat A-level guys. But if Martinez looks good and KTFO Cotto and then he fights 3G, arguably we could say GGG is fighting an A-level MW.

Ward is a proven fighter. I rank him as the real P4P King. He fought top notch guys and I want to see him fighting Stevenson , Kovalev and Pascal @ 175.

His biggest problem is he can't draw files. On the other hand GGG's stocks are going up pretty fast !

Ward will only fight in his hometown with his personal referee, judges, boxing commission, etc. Ward ran from Stevenson when Stevenson called him out live on HBO, Stevenson even said he would come way down to 168 to fight the damned coward............................Golovkin is the best middleweight in the world..............

It was just as poor than to. Beyond Pavlik and Taylor facing each other we didn't get any of the match ups that we wanted.

Miranda turned out to be a gate keeper and jumped to Super Middle, Abraham jumped to Super Middle, Wright cashed out against Hopkins after one close draw with Taylor, Sturm was still Sturm. Fragmented and more talk of

In the end Taylor and Pavlik were stuck defending their belts agianst the likes of Corey Spinks, Ouma, Lockett, and Rubio.

Kessler would get clowned at this time in his career
ward got hometown fights in the super six because (in my opinion) the other players didn't rate ward beforehand and were too busy shuffling for position against other fighters

ward is a legit champ and made his mark in the one country that matters (in most weight divisions). that's not me flying the flag, it's just the way things are

so it doesn't really matter if GGG fights in Europe, his big fights will be made through his network backing and US exposure

Williams and Hopkins were in there for a time too
i'd rate spinks and Miranda above the current gate-keepers

prime Martinez, taylor and pavlik...with cameos from Hopkins and Williams is easily better than the current crop for me

Nah, Hopkins left MW after the Taylor fights and never looked back. Pavlik and Wright had to move up to LHW/SMW catchweights to fight him. Reason Pavlik didn't lose his belt.

Martinez and Williams moved up in weight and took up residence in MW after Taylor, Hopkins, Abraham, and all these guys were gone and Pavlik couldn't find any challengers to his MW crown.

Believe me, everything being said about Triple G and the current MW division was being said about Pavlik and the MW division then.
