Excessive holding can lead to a point being taken away, but I've never seen someone get DQ'ed for it

Unbelievable. Froch actually outclinched Dirrell through 5 :yep

It's like the old saying that if you tell a lie enough it will stick. You would think it was a clinch fest from Dirrell when Froch decided to throw him down if you listen to Froch supporters.

    It happens.

    Not often.

How often do you really see someone DQ'd at all?

    :lol::patsch

So tell me moron, if holding is illegal, then why are Mosley and BHop going to the hall of fame. Why are the Klitscko brothers considered the best heavies today. Why are Jack Johnson and Willie Pep ATG's? Why didnt the ref disqualify Gene Tunney when he whipped Jack Dempsey?

    Both fought Kessler.

Kessler who is just about the cleanest boxer in the sport...

compare what Ward did to what Froch did.

Ward is obviously very very dirty, while Froch is quite clean.

Lol !! Ward is as dirty as they come when it comes to his tactics. His best weapon is that well timed headbut.

    :good

It is great that there are ESB-members seeing the light, in despite of the wardos trying to save their heroes face by pointing finger at other fighters.

And Dirrell outclinched Froch throughout the fight. As well as he outducked him low throughout the fight. It was a fight where both fought dirty. Not like Wards "lets rewrite the game of fouling against a real sportsmen"-approach :good

You cant just cut out a little piece of a fight that supports your opinion, and ignore the rest. If that was acceptable, you could rewrite the history in every fight where the loser won at least one round.

    Try again.

Your looking at my comment out of context from what else was discussed up to that point. People are trying to justify Froch throwing Dirrell to the ground when I just proved that he cliched ONE time up to that point and that was the 5th round. An occasional clinch happens in boxing and no one gets hurt from it. To throw someone to the ground after that isn't some tit-for-tat reaction and shows the type of dirty tactics he'll resort to when he gets frustrated. Not to mention he had hit after the break twice up to that point I believe.

Did Dirrell start clinching more after that point? Sure, but let's not forget there were moments after that where Dirrell was neither holding or ducking too low yet Froch still decided to hold his head down and rabbit punch him. That's some intentional, dirty fouling because it's not like you can justify it has something that just happened in the heat of the action such as what often happens with headbutts. He held down his head, thought about it, then punched.

Perhaps "Wardos" wouldn't need to make a point about Froch's dirty fighting if the contingent of haters didn't moan all the time about how dirty Ward is off of ONE fight (which is blown out of proportion) while giving Froch a total pass.

Where were the headbutts against Green and Abraham? And spare me the talk about the Bika fight...that guy is a dirty fighter yet if Ward plays just as rough against Bika he doesn't get the same pass Froch did against Dirrell even though the it's the same argument Froch supporters use to justify his dirty fighting in that one.

Pre fight maneuvering. Son of headbutts is a dirty little fecker and his trainer wants as much advantage as possible. Is it in Ward's hometown again? What a farce.

He has skills but his chin is shaky. If it becomes a war bet on Froch coming out the other side. Most likely though Ward will pot shot his way to a ud.

Yes there was headbutts in the abraham fight
Abraham came out strong in that fight and Ward struggled
in the first few rounds, then notice how ward headbutts AA on the chin
to cool him off ... remember AA had a loose chin in the miranda fight?
Ward is a dirty **** compared to Kessler or Froch

I have not studied Wards behavior during his fight against AA, so thanks for filling me in :goodI only knew he threw after a break. The highlighting of Wards shady tactics must go on.

Shut up. No smoke and mirrors here ****. Holding is illegal in boxing and I am astonished that this is the second time since I've been on this site that I had to explain this to someone. Read the ****ing rules and shut the **** up. You're wrong. Thats like saying Holyfield will be in the HOF so headbutting isn't really illegal.

If holding isn't illegal, why does the ref yell "Break" and make them stop? ****ing duh.
