Just when you thought Showtime viewers are about to lose interest in this tournament due to Dirrell's disputed loss and Taylor's crushing defeat, the underdog Andre Ward pulls out the upset vs. the tourney's no1 favorite. Now it's all very balanced and you can put Ward up there to the favorites. This is why this tournament is so good, the fights are really close to call, the underdog has a very good chance in each and every fight and even if you lose one, you can still fight on and win the whole thing in the end. I'm very extited to see R2, which kicks off in January 2010!
Official rankings: 1) Arthur Abraham, 3pts 2) Andre Ward, 2pts 2) Carl Froch, 2pts 4) Andre Dirrell, 0pt 4) Mikkel Kessler, 0pt 4) Jermain Taylor, 0pt
The saying "Styles make fights" is in the forefront of this tournament. I have a feeling every fighter in this tournament will lose at least once before they even make it to the semi finals.
If Kessler loses to Froch, he is out the pretty much out of the tournament. The pressure is all on him in the next fight. Jermain Taylor has a shot at winning a Super Middleweight title. If both Taylor and Kessler win, there bout in the 3rd stage could be a unification match. So many story lines going on with the tournament. And I havent even discussed the Abraham/Dirrell fight.
Lol, that ward guy is into steroids. he calls himself SOG because that is an acronym for the substance he's taking. :yep There is no proof he's not into steroids whatsoever so he must be into something, no other way to explain why he dominated kessler :good
