I jog around the halls very relaxed almost like a skip jog just because I have a hard time sitting still before a fight unless my hands are being wraped. I will obviously do some padwork to and some fight specific drills on my own.
I personally skip rope for a couple 3 minute rounds, and then shadow box a few rounds. Stretchin real good before and after. I cant do pads before a fight. Im not to social interactive person yet right before a fight. I have my headphones in like the 60 minutes before the fight. Kinda in my own world.
Stretching isn't warming up, stretching causes micro tears in your muscles robbing you of your energy.
I keep on myself in the lockerroom. That can start like 2 hours before the fight. No phone, no girlfriend, no friends or parents. Only my trainer or somebody else that has to be in that lockerroom. I make sure evrything is right. Especially headgear. I hate it when the thing starts to slide. So I tape it. Then 3 fights before me I start to loosing up and shadowbox. Also doing mitts.
I have atleast 45mins where I first start some light jogging, gymnastics and then jump rope. After that I shadow box and I always throw in some spurts to get my pulse up. Finally I have some rounds on mitts. I don't mind warming up inside the hall with plenty people around me. Many times I use the place with most fresh air (yes, I've warmed up outside before).
i was going to do taht once but my trainer wouldnt let me i nrmally put on a big jumper or like a sweat jumper thingthen shadow box till i sweat then my trainer gets me strecthing and breathing then we do somemore shadow boxing like 1 min and then strecth alot so im real loose then we do mitts so im even looser and then strecthc with mittts then fight i get wrappped up head guard on before warmiong up
Usually 20 mins before i was due on, have a wee dance around and a wee shadow. NOTHING close to a 3 minute skip or shadow. Just relaxed then maybe 30 secs of pads. Nice crisp combos. No stretching,or direct stretching. i saw a lot of people stretching for ages. No thanks, takes the zip/snap out of you.
