When it seemed that Haye would fight Chapman Fwank used boxrec rankings to justify Skelton is a better fighter (Champan is 100-and-something and Skelton is top 20). However Barrett is ranked above Skelton by Boxrec so Carrot Top can't use that to support his claims that Skelton is better . What reasoning did he use this time then?

No it wouldn't... You'd have decent promotional outfits getting more attention. Thus better quality domestic matches and ok, we might not have any 37-0 firghters who are five weight WBO champions- but who really wants to watch that boring **** anymore. Give me two decent fighters fighting for a decent belt anyday over some TBA bull****.
The problem is there will always be a "Warren", British boxing is small enough for one man / group to run it as pretty much a monopoly. Before Warren it was Duff/ Jarvis/ Astaire before that Jack Soloman, there was a guy before Soloman whose name escapes me at the moment....
