In any of those cases, is the squash match the one that’s designed to sell tickets?

When that match has been criticized, and rightfully so, the defense has been “well they put Adamek on there because he will sell tickets in Chicago, he’ll draw the crowd.” So that fight is the face of the promotion.

You can’t put on a show and basically say, “Come see this particular fight” to the fans and then hide behind “well that’s not a reallly important fight on the card.”

Adamek is THE name recognition on the show where it’s being promoted. You and Eddie can’t say “noting to see here.”

The truth hurts. You're such a weak minded person that if this forum was anti-loma you'd be on my nuts agreeing with everything I say and going at easy targets that defend loma but are clearly a minority.

I totally agree. No one can doubt the positive impact Hearn has had on British boxing. I find his Über coockney bantz a little grating but, on the flip side, I hardly like Warren's weaselly ways either. It's why I find promoter fan boys a tad odd. It's like admiring a traffic warden or a tax inspector...

Yes Wilder in a HW title fight against Stiverne II was designed to sell tickets, Showtime aired it as the main event.

Adamek vs Miller is on the card, not the main event.

As I type this, 6 of the 10 most recent threads are all about Hearn/his fighters/Dazn.......

    A truly incredible promoter.

Wilder-Stiverne was a mismatch, but it was a mandatory mismatch. Blame the WBC, no promoter said “let’s make this fight, give it a hashtag and try to tell the world it’s not a mismatch.”

Eddie is promoting this as a triple main event. Three fights on the card have hashtags on all his tweets about it and Adamek-Miller is one of them. Eddie isn’t minimizing the fight. He called Adamek the best available heavyweight to fight Miller with AJ and Wilder tied up in title fights.

Little Eddie should be ashamed of himself, but the man has no shame.

And it was aired as a main event on Showtime mandatory defense does not mean it has to be aired but it was. So give me a break. Totally hypocritical that you act like all promoters & networks don't air fights just like this. I think DAZN could be successful and in 5 years time you would still be calling it Days Inn and siting what a **** fight Adamek vs Miller was on their first card.

Frank is like a roach man just when you think this guy is finished he finds away to crawl out, which is an admirable. However he really is a piece of crap, he brings a meaning to the term a sleazy promoter.

    @Saintpat

So let me get this right, except for Miller v Adamek, you have 0 issues with the rest of the card/s right?

The only good fight on the card is Beterbiev vs Johnson and even that might turn out to be a mismatch. It’s all one sided fights.

I have issues with another service trying to charge for what are essentially ESPN/Fox level cards. If you want to charge a monthly subscription fee you have to offer more than the occasional (mostly mediocre) boxing show and minor league MMA.

If it’s successfull, bully for DaysInn. But most o my posts on it have been about how and why I don’t think they get it and how and why I don’t think it’s going to work in the USA.

Are you a DaysInn stockholder? An employee of Eddie’s whose livelihood depends on it making it big? Are you a subscriber? I don’t get why it bothers you so much that some people criticize it — people criticize HBO all the time, same for Showtime and it’s practically a hobby for some people to throw serious shade at PBC and Haymon. Why should Eddie and his DaysInn pay-me-to-watch service be immune.

Wilder’s fights are televised on PBC platforms of which Showtime is the primary one. Including bad mandatories. You saying that if AJ gets stuck with a bad mandatory that Sky and DaysInn will not carry it?

Nobody made Adamek-Miller but Eddie. No one ordered it. No one wanted it. But he made it. He put it out as the very reason people should buy tickets to see it. He has a hashtag for it as a triple main event. When it was criticized as a mismatch, he defended it and said Adamek was the best available opponent for Miller with AJ and Wilder doing title defenses. He touts it as a top-10 guy (Adamek, citing Boxrec rankings) vs. a top 15 guy, like this is a major elimination-type fight.

You can defend it or you can say “there have been other mismatches” — or you could just say, “Yes, no getting around it, it’s a terrible mismatch that should never have been made.” Why is that so hard when you KNOW it’s true?

I have no problems with people criticizing it.....
But I take issue with liars.

Miller v Adamek is not a main event.......
Whilst Vargas v Dulorme, the card this fight is on, is the 3rd best main event of the month......

"I have issues with another service trying to charge for what are essentially ESPN/Fox level cards."

A clear lie.....The card is FREE.
