This mindset is ridiculous. These are the same people who felt Mayweather had no right to moan about the last HBO contract he was offered before he left them. Yes it's an £8m purse but that doesn't mean it is fair. The idea that professional athletes can't moan about fairness because they are rich or become rich is absurd. Normal working class people who actually want to see workers treated more fairly by employers should understand why dillian isn't happy.
How exactly would a judge determine what = reasonable promotion. Dillian's version of reasonable could be a few tweets on fight week while Warren has a different view. If it went to court, as long as dillian has done some small promotion there is no way a judge would rule in favour of Warren. The term reasonable is far too open.
He's done absolutely 0 promotion so far, so if it went to court Warren would win. Whyte has not even acknowledged a fight is on. I wouldn't want to be on his legal team if he carries on like this and his lawyer will likely advise him he has to get off his ass in the next few weeks. Fight week is going to be hilarious, as Whyte is going to have to be dragged around like a spoilt child to at least one press conference and a weigh in, then deal with the Fury clan winding him up all week. Think Whyte is going to crack at some point.
You missed where I said Whyte could send out few amount of tweets on fight week and for him that = reasonable promotion. As long as he does something Warren has big problem as "reasonable promotion" gives no real measure. The lawyer made it clear to Frank in that argument that the term reasonable promotion doesn't detail what that means in real terms for his client. Frank can't complain when Whyte leaves it to the very last minute as he has allowed Whyte to determine himself what is reasonable and what isn't.
Actually a judge will determin what's "reasonable" and what's not - not Whyte. Typically they use previous examples as a guage and considering there's basically been no boxers never not turn up to a press conference or acknowledge a fight, I'd say Whyte might be in trouble if he doesn't pull his finger out and drop the teddy act. Sounds like Warren is intending to take Whyte to court after this, which would be hilarious if he lost some of his match money.
More likely Warren does not have the cash to pay Whyte hence why he would not put it in escrow. It would be real funny if Fish eyes gets put out of business not paying Whyte.
They offered to put the money in escrow and it's a joint promotion between Queensbury and Top Rank/ESPN so the money is clearly there.
The bout agreement is from the WBC. The WBC have not said Whyte has broken terms of the agreement as he isn't obliged to do whatever Warren wants him to do.
Warren and co have already outlined they will be taking Whyte to court if he doesn't 'reasonablly promote the fight' and at this point he has done 0 promotion. If it went to court after fight week and Whyte had only done the weigh in and the fight, I'd say theres a chance Whyte loses some of his purse. His legal team will be advising him he needs to start making some appearances / discuss the fight over the next few weeks.
