Interesting read if you guys missed it. http://www.boxingnews24.com/2009/06/frank-warren-haye-pulled-out-due-to-money/
I'm glad that the fountain of truth and honesty that is Frank Warren could clear that up for us. ...but seriously, I think he is right on this one!
He might have done i suppose ( at least in part ) he may have felt a twinge that were he sure the fight was all ok he would have ignored or trained through he might have thought to himself, Hmmm **** it. But trusting to ole fish eyes as a reliable source of info would be like ........................................... .............well like using Don King as a reliable source
He might be right but he hasn't really said anything. "I know that for a fact" well please explain how you know this for a fact? Even if Haye did pull out over money I still say it's fair enough. What else is he meant to do if he isn't getting paid for the fight?
I love the way he says "I know that for a fact " , man read the dudes newspaper column and see how man "facts" you can find in there. yeeesh Sourpuss !
well if its true i feel like its pretty shitty. it wasnt even a dispute about how much money, he was just going to get it after the fight.
I think it's becoming more evident that it's the reason why. I don't blame him though, his got a family, his got to eat too.
Well seeing as Setanta just wnet bust that seems unlikely does it not ? They owed the scottish football league millions ! ( I know we desere that )
I believe it. Setanta sports went off the air yesterday and all their employees lost there jobs. The football contracts Setanta had with the english and scottish premierships have been terminated because Setanta couldnt pay what they owed for the rights. There is little doubt that this is the main reason for Haye pulling out as his money was coming from Setanta. Obviously his managers didnt think they could get out of the fight contract legally due to Setanta not being able to pay his end of the deal so used the injury card! You cant blame him for not fighting under these circumstances however.
If Haye thought he was going to win that fight he would have fought Klitschko for five cents Canadian! The money isn't in beating the Champion, the money is in becoming Champion. Haye pulled out because he was pretty sure he was probably going to get knocked out and he wanted to get paid while he lives his 15 minutes of fame in the heavyweight ranks.
Warrens a **** but I think he's right on this one. Having said that, I don't blame Haye one bit for not wanting to fight for nothing!
