Tszyu beat the recognised number two in Mitchell, and if we are waiting for a replacement we have been waiting a ****ing long while:good Hatton is not or never will be the greatest Light Welterweight but he is the best of the last 4 years:hi:
Fck is he. Cotto, Judah and co would all beat him so stop pretending he is this great enigma. You 100% a Hatton shill.
He could still make light welter with ease. I can assure you he has the beating of Hatton at light welter and welter but as usual Hatton will ignore livewire opponents until they are past prime unless there is lots of money on the table like in the PBF fight.
Stop posting on here for a while and Kurt2006 type posters were the exact reason. Pure hatred. But hey I suppose he knows more than boxing reporters, ex boxers, purists, the Ring Magazine et al. Just by me recognising his lame without justification posts is killing me. In perspective Thaxton was livewire at the time he fought, when Hatton was a young prospect, Magee was livewire, he got through top 10 contenders in Tackie and Stewart earning a shot at the recognised No1 in Kostya. Pre fight no one expected a Hatton win, Kostya was destructive in his last fight against Mitchell, and was certainly as 'livewire' as anyone in the division at the time, Maussa was unpredictable and definitely 'live', as was Collazo (in his prime). Castillo on reflection was possibly on his way out, but to dispose of him in four was still impressive, and of course Mayweather was super prime, and super live, and the fight was close through the first 5-6 rounds. Hatton has fought good names respective to the stage of his career he was at. Thaxton-Phillips-Tackie-Kostya-Collazo-Castillo-Mayweather is a good chain working up to the creme de la creme, with Thaxton-Phillips providing a young Hatton with tests, Tackie and Kostya providing a slightly older Hatton establish himself as a genuine top light welter, and Collazo-Mayweather showing that Hatton, despite being small for a full blown Welterweight, can still mix it with bigger guys away from home. Of course there are some lightly regarded names on Hatton's record, but check every fighters and you will see the same. His last 5 fights have been against top names, and with 3/4 fights left I expect to see another 2 good names at least. Not bad for a can of Netto beans. If you want to come back with a balanced counter argument I will be happy to read it. If it is going to be babble, and non constructive bigotry then GTFO!
Nice to see a stuctured point put across for once. I think the general consensus is there was at least a two year period where Hatton was treading water where he could have been fighting better opposition but instead he & Warren were happy to make money selling out the MEN making WBU defences. Hatton wasted a good amount of his "prime". Also the whole Witter situation has bordered on the farcical. People who have been boxing fans for more than two years may remember a certain clause Ricky had written into his contract explicitly stating he would face Junior. Why did it not happen? Hatton is also now being hypocritical with his reasons for not fighting Witter so that grates with people. As for the Collazo fight I don't like the whole "blown welter" argument. 20 years ago a 140lb division didn't even exist so what would Ricky have been? Ricky also had the chance to face Floyd at 140 which would have also been for the unified title but team Hatton declined. Finally since he got back from his little star studded trip to the States he has done nothing but whine when in reality most of us know he would have lost regardless. Besides, Cortez was just doing the job the likes of Vann & Parris had failed to do. He also comes across rather condescending, I feel, with this whole man of/giving back to the people stuff he keeps going on about. Lets break it down. The general consensus amongst the hardcore fans is that he should fight Witter. The football fans that will want to see him regardless of who he faces will have to pay for tickets or watch on PPV. So what people is he representing? A cynic might say he's simply looking to "fill his boots" & fighting a non punching lightweight who will have been inactive for 15 months will only serve to cement those views.
Why dont you GTFO then ? I used to enjoy this forum till the PBF fight was announced and all the Hatton shills started to post crap and harping on about Hatton being some sort of ATG. Bitching about the Cortez, imaginary PBF forearms etc etc. Face the truth Hatton was found out and shown to be average by PBF. He is never going to be an ATG despite what you shills think. Exactly. I do not blame him for wanting to make us much money as he can but he should stop kidding himself by wanting to fight cack like Lucatmytits and maligfaggi. Sure and all his shills like KCD have been bitching and bleating just like Hatton. :happy Why dont he fight someone like Olusegun than some over the hill mexican tit ?
There has been a light weilter division off and on since the 1920s and the 'modern' division has be established since the 60's (~50 years!!). Men like Ortiz, Palomino, Benetiz, Pryor have all had decent reigns and probably done their best work at 140. Hatton was just fighting in the divsion that suited him at the time his was active, the fact that option wouldn't have been availiable to him in the 1950s is neither here nor there IMHO. Are we going to put down every modern boxers achievements at 140, 154, 168, 135 etc, if they stuggled when they moved up in weight?
No but my point was if Hatton was the great fighter people made him out to be a mere half stone move up in weight shouldn't have affected him to the extent it did. I'm pretty dissapointed you picked out the one bit from my post you took exception to & used that as the basis for your retort skimming over the rest of my valid points. It's because of stuff like that you will find decent posters can't be arsed to make the effort to post & you are left with the disrespectful "n00b" posts everyone has been complaining about.
I think Hatton found it hard going at welter due to his style of fighting (pressure) and the fact that his stats (reach, height, etc) are pretty small as far as light welters go. I mean Pacquaio fights 2 divisions below him and started off as a flywieght and if they fought Hatton would be and inch smaller and something along the lines of 4-6 inches outreached! There are more fighters but iam using Pac as an example. This isnt an excuse i am making for Hatton, these are facts. Basically he has a super bantamweights frame but with a welterweights mass. If there was never a light welterweight division i dont think Hatton or Witter would ever have made it onto the world scene. P.S. I think it is down right disrespectful of people like Kurt2006 when he refers to boxers whom actually have the balls to get in the ring and fight as Lucatmytits and Maligfaggi. He aint a real fan of BOXING:bbb
The step up from 140 to 147 has caused better fighters than Hatton to struggle, 7 pounds is quite a lot at 10 stone. Before you get too self-righteous and blame all ESBs newbie woes on me, I thought about not snipping your post but the other points you made have all be gone over to death before by me, you and countless others on the board. I merely snipped to make my post clearer, to show what part of your post I was addressing. Not to try and score cheap points but because I'm sick to death of going round in circles on the other points you brought up (valid or not valid). Its not really "making and effort" when the same points are being made time and time again, your point on the light-welterweight division was the only one in your post I hadn't heard many times before so I addessed it clearly. Nothing more sinsiter than that. EDIT: Sorry if this seems dismissive of your other points, its not meant to be, but I really am taking a 'lifes too short' attitude on this subject.
:nut So what. Next you will be telling me that butterbean is not big fat ******* and that Peter is not a fat plodder.
