Warren insists Haye shaves his beard off lol

    DAVID HAYE will be hanging his chin out when he faces Enzo Maccarinelli at the O2 Arena in London tomorrow night.

    The WBC and WBA cruiserweight champ has been told he must shave off his beard to give WBO title holder Maccarinelli a chance.

    Haye’s stubble would be against Boxing Board of Control rules.

    Fight promoter Frank Warren was furious as Haye missed a midday press call yesterday.

    Warren blasted: “Haye has grown a big bushy beard. I’ll insist the Board orders Haye to climb into the ring clean-shaven.”

    Haye arrived at the O2 after Warren’s team had left, saying he was due at 2pm. And the time of the weigh-in today is in dispute too.

    Haye said: “I was expecting all sorts of tricks.”

    Warren stormed: “I am paying Haye an absolute fortune. He has turned around and basically said ‘screw you’.”

    Promoters dont earn the money the fighters do. Are 20,000 people going to see frank warren?

    Did Warren ever promote the bearded Danny Williams, or am I imagining things? What a twat. It's clear that he has absolutely no confidence in his man's ability to win on a level playing field, so he's doing all he can to upset the Haye applecart. If Haye is just over the weight because of Warren's time change, he should just tell them that the fight isn't happening due to shennanigans by Warren & his team and that his next fight will be at HW.

    It's going to be beautiful seeing the fairly light-punching Welshman sprawled across the canvas tomorrow night - It's very likely that the first half-decent punch Haye lands represents the end of the fight. This is different to the grade A bums 'Mac' has faced for almost his entire career.

    Actually, Vitali didn't really mind. It was the WBC who insisted on the trimming, leading to the classic line from Vitali's team-

    "As long as he doesn't hide a horseshoe in there, we're ok with it."
