Just can’t see that at all. There is zero chance Usyk’s first fight at Heavyweight is against Joshua.

    It's on April 13th mate.

I can't see this happening, all news from Usyk's direct team seems to point towards a couple of easing in fights before wanting Joshua

I can see Usyk fighting Chisora on his route to Joshua. It’s a name that would draw people in to boost his profile even further.

I agree, doesn't seem to make sense for either party.

I just wonder why Warren would make such a claim if this was baseless, he could criticize Joshua for fighting Whyte again far more than if he were to fight Usyk.

If Fury and Wilder are rematching then I'd be happier to see Joshua fight Usyk than Whyte again.

Warren will.put anything that happens on the rival promotion down but this is still a fight between unified belt holders.

Usyk is a small guy at 6'3'', he's giving away height and weight to Joshua but he isn't a small guy. He can punch as well, he just isn't a one punch KO artist though Bellew may disagree.

Usyk will give Joshua a lot of style problems as we saw Povetkin and before that Savings give him. Smaller, quicker boxer who throws in accumulation, can get under him and ahs better footwork isn't an easy fight for Joshua. Joshua overall mass, strength and punch power may prevail and for those reasons but it's no walk into he park and a very good fight.

it can't be baseless, he must've heard something along the lines of they're looking at Usyk as an option. It would be ridiculous from Usyk's side tbh.

Warren is broke. He doesnt give a damn about Fury, he needs a Wilder rematch for Fury for both the money and to leverage himself against matchroom. Fury isnt a fool though, he knows full well he gets robbed in full in the rematch cause the WBC cronies are heavily invested on cashing Wilder in vs Joshua, not a Fury rematch. You'll keep hearing Wilder and Warren scream rematch, but Fury knows its a dead end road and will fight Joshua instead.

Well, at first glance it does seem crazy, but... For example, Usyk fights Joshua next and loses. So what? A smaller guy has lost to a top 3 (at least) heavyweight, who's also huge. And if Usyk wins (somehow ) he will be the greatest ever.:smile:

I do believe it's possible. If the money is right I can see Usyk taking the fight. Its a great opportunity and a loss doesn't hurt him.

This seems like a load of nonsense, really.

Usyk's a beast, but he's not going to jump straight in against Joshua, and I doubt Hearn would let Joshua in with Usyk without seeing how he does against a similar sized opponent beforehand. There's just too many risks for both parties.

Let's see Usyk in against someone easier, like Wilder or Whyte, first.

I see what you’re saying, it’s like Usyk has nothing to lose but in reality he does. He gets KO’d by Joshua then there’s a long rebuilding process. Makes so much more sense to build up to the occasion than having to rebuild.

On the flip side though, Hearn and AJ may think it’s the perfect time to fight Usyk and beat somebody who people hold in high regard. AJ will get no credit for beating Whyte again.

Don't forget that Usyk has sparred Wlad (who's also a huge HW, obviously) lots of times so he can realistically assess his chances in a possible fight against AJ.
