    And so it begins.

If Joshua fights Fury/Wilder/Whyte/Usyk/Pulev.....He's avoiding Fury/Wilder/Whyte/Usyk/Pulev

It shows you just how successful this "Fury and Wilder are the best two HW's on the planet" promotion was.

    Warren is hinting at that.

With the "I know why they want to fight Usyk, he is a smaller guy and not much of a puncher."

    You could say about Fury....

"I know why they want to fight Wilder, he is a smaller guy and not much of a boxer."

    Or Wilder....

"I know why they want to fight Fury, he's been out of the ring over two years and not much of a puncher."

i don't think he is either. It seems now that both sides want the rematch, so if that's the case, he can't be hinting that he's ducking them

I really hope that this is non sense, because i believe that usyk needs a longer break after all this fights he had. He fought 4 times in 14 months, which is really alot.
I would wish to see him in june in the ring again, april would be way to early.

Maybe that's why he said it? When the Whyte fight eventually gets made for April, Warren can say the Uysk fight was smoke and mirrors and Hearn is merely regurgitating old match-ups already. Yeah, not a great piece of psy ops, but Frank has never been the greatest at this kind of thing....

The way I see it is that if Fury/Wilder rematch then the Usyk fight is the next biggest fight for Joshua and makes sense for the Matchroom hype train.

Isn't it the WBO who has the next mandatory due? Whyte is number one with them but hasn't been named mandatory to my knowledge? Didn't they announce that as WBO champion Usyk would get a shot at the HW belt should he choose to move up?

So maybe Usyk is going to take up that option and doesn't want to miss the chance by waiting for the WBO mandatory slot to come back round. After all, who knows what may happen in the meantime to the AJ money train?

If Joshua gets past Usyk in April then Pulev in September, maybe he could fight the winner of Wilder Fury 2 at the tail end of next year?

No one can complain about Joshua-Usyk. Brilliant fight, one that I will consider splashing out on floor seats for.

Also no one can begrudge Warren talking about Joshua’a opponent after Hearn spent the last three months deriding Fury and telling the casual audience not to buy the PPV because it would be a “boring” fight.

Usyk on the under card vs a mid range heavyweight with name recognition would make sense if Joshua is looking to fight him down the track.

    Similar to Povetkin/Price.

Would be great but don’t see it personally. Usyk should have a couple tune-ups at heavy before taking on AJ, who is an inferior boxer but has the size and power to really do damage to him. If it does happen the pressure really would be all on AJ, it will happen but not this coming April
