Do you think Warren 's serious about this? I don't think it's a good move on Warrens part, the biggest puncher DeGale has been in with is Paul Smith and though he didn't get really hurt, he did get caught flush a few times with his hands low and against Pavlik that probably won't do you any good.........except if you're Sergio Martinez.
A fighter who has lost his last two "meaningful" fights and has just come out of rehab. You must have doubts as to whether you're gonna see pavlik at his very best (which was still V limited)
Read this in yesterdays Sun. Ok he stopped Paul Smith. EXCELLENT domestic win and scalp. But Pavlik? Il believe this when i see it.
**** yeah Warren is going to sign that fight, best chance he can get DeGale a win over a name opponent
DeGale would'nt beat Pavlik, i think it's a bit too early for him now anyway. Even if Pavlik takes it for his next fight and Degale would most probably emulate Martinez' style and get KD'd then finished off, i doubt he could toy with Pavlik and get into his head the way Hopkins and Martinez did. Plus the amature experience wouldn't count for much, Pavliks last opponent had none.
Perfect time to get a big name, when they're coming off loses with their confidence low, when they're coming out of rehab and admitted to having alcohol problems. Yes Degale is a red hot up and comer and is all wrong for this version of Pavlik
Pavlik cannot hit fighters who move laterally , that was always the theory and now that theory has been emphatically proven to be true , Arum should look for static fighters for Pavlik , people like Froch , Kessler , Abraham , fighters like himself upright 1 - 2 fighters , it has **** all to do with getting into anyone's head !!!! I like this new found caution to the wind mentality that Warren has developed , i think personally Pavlik is too much too soon for De Gale but obviously Frank likes the fight , and it would be literally massive in the UK , this would be a great great seller in the UK and could provide Bobby and Pavlik with something to think about !!! :deal
I think it'd be brilliant match making, Pavlik is ill, low on confidence, not the fighter he once was, seems to have lost much of his power, can't cope with movement...and if he wins "we took a risk, it didn't pay off, James will be back soon enough"
Warren is *****. Pavlik has just come out of Rehab, so he will not be in shape at all. Someone phone Terry Marsh!
Of course Warren will try and make this happen! typical warren getting a fighter just past his best or at his lowest Ebb brining him over here and getting his fighter to fight him, then if he wins he'll claim it huge. just like when he was getting Olivera, Holiday etc...over for Hatton back in the day they were completly shot but had some sort of name so he could sell it to the non boxing public as a huge...i hate frank warren !
