Warren rates Burns ahead of Scott Harrison

This is a bit revisionist. Harrison wasnt special. He didnt excel at any particular aspect of boxing. But he was absolutely relentless.
I remember the night he won the WBO vs Chacon and the Scottish were belting out "Flower of Scotland". I kid you not i wanted to don a kilt and start a war with the British! Was an awesome fight with great atmosphere. Harrison was a warrior point blank. Despite the WBO belt having little value he was certainly a worthy champ and mixed with some great company. Plus he held that belt whilst the likes of Barrera Morales Marquez and Naz were still forces to be reckoned with. How he made 26 though il never know. He was a massive Featherweight. Gave Wayne McCullough a brutal beating too.

 

To be honest he's being too highly regarded by some. That said i was a massive Harrison fan when he was active. He was always entertaining to watch. And i loved his blue collar style. One of Scotland's best fighters. Shame he never got to fight AA. I would have gone with Harrison by late TKO.

 

I loved the fight against Nicky Cook the most. Tried to find it on youtube but it's not there anymore. He absolutely destroyed Cook in what was expected to be a close fight.

 

Nicky never fought Harrison? I think you may be thinking of McCullough?

 

Sorry was thinking of the Brodie fight. Don't know why I thought of Cook. Were Cook and Harrison not meant to fight at one point but it got called off at the last minute?

 

Yeah. The bout was pencilled in a number of times but Harrison by that time was having alot of personal troubles and the fight never came off.
As for Brodie Harrison that was a battering. Brodie by that time was physically spent after his war with InJin Chi. He always marked up bad. In that fight he was simply over powered by the much stronger Harrison.

 

Yep, Brodie was done by then. He gave everything in that 'draw' with Chi.

Warren is a genius and has to say things like this in order to build Burns whilst he continues to feed him patsies.

Scott was as tough as they came. Lennox Lewis always gets mega credit for avenging his losses but I remember Scotts rematch with Medina where there was a lot of criticism thrown his way for being defeated in the first place. I thought is was pretty obvious he was ill that night. I remeber the night he fought Abelyan and Frank Maloney had said he didnt want Scott to face him and thatr made Scott want him more lol.
