He has fought nothing but the top guys in the division ever since beating Chisora sans the first Dubois fight which was his mandatory. As said, injury, Covid, war, and being screwed around royally by Greedy Belly are the reason he has been inactive. People keep ignoring this for some strange reason.

He's fought 3 times in the last 14 months and is spending time with his family and when he is ready to negotiate his next fight he will, if he chooses to continue fighting. He hasn't vacated the belt or ''ducked'' J-Park so why are people acting like he has?

And the notion he fears him or has anything to fear from someone who lost to AJ, Whyte, was KO'd by Big Joe Joyce, should be 1-1 vs Chisora, lost to Fat Andy in many people's eyes, arguably lost to Hughie, and who couldn't even get Jack Massey out of there is rather comical.

He may well fight J-Park but if he doesn't he can vacate the belt and J-Park will be elevated to the full champ. Either way, J-Park will get his shot or become champ and either way we're going to find out soon enough when Usyk is ready to come to the negotiating table or knows what the next step in his career is going to be

I would love it if Usyk kept fighting at least twice a year, if he wants to keep fighting that is. Hopefully he gets in the ring before the year is out.

I'm sure Usyk isn't scared of anyone, Parker included. That doesn't mean though that he would rather not put in the effort and take on the risk of fighting Parker compared to someone who he knows he can already beat.

Its Usyk's perogative to decide if he wants to defend the title or drop it. but you can't complain about Fury messing Usyk around, he was genuinely injured, and then turn around and say its fine for Usyk to do it to the next person. It shows a bit of bias, which honestly does come through in the way you choose to say things and the words used.

I want him to retire. He's clocked the game on hard difficulty mode and he doesn't have to prove anything to anyone now. Beating J-Park won't silence the haters or add much to his legacy he's only fought 5 opponents at HW remember and the narrative will be he's only fought 6 if he does decide to fight J-Park

He doesn't fear J-Park and anyone trying to insinuate he does doesn't get taken seriously.

He's not messing J-Park around he's fought 3 times in 14 months, only fought last month, and is spending time with his family who he has barely seen due to his activity and has requested an extension not vacated the belt. He doesn't see his family at all all throughout camp and he's not thinking about his next fight after just having fought recently and he's approaching 39 y/o and this time it's not just his next fight he's having to contemplate he's having to contemplate his career and whether to even continue with it or not or if it is to be his final fight which fight to take. It's not the same as what Greedy Belly did to him at all and if anyone has earned some grace it's Usyk.

He's requested an extension not vacated the belt. People need to stop being so impatient it's only a month since he last fought for goodness sake

Joseph Parker is in a good place. He either gets gifted the title or he earns a **** load of money fighting usyk. He just needs to wait it out. Funny enough only one of those options guarantees he will be champion. The other is contingent on him doing something special

Smells like politics but Usyks credibility is pretty sky high in my opinion. He has had a hell of a schedule the past few years with no complaints...

Parker is still in the drivers seat. He has no choice but to be patient and play it smart.

How times have changed. not long ago Usyk was the avoided man making the concessions...

Usyk because of an illness has been granted a 30 day extension by the WBO, from August 20 to September 19.

Parker didn't drop the belts then fight for it to become "2 time world champion" rather than face his mandatory did he? Or have I missed something?

And I've made plenty of posts praising other fighters, Usyk included. That doesn't mean he's immune from criticism. I've also criticized Parker plenty.

Nobody asks usyk to fight parker next week !

but it has nothing to do with confirming and negotiating parker as next opponent for WBO defence !

He does not only obviously avoid parker , he is not even brave enough to at least vacate the belt and let the division go , instead he hides behind some "injury" and asks for an extension with the hope to NOT to be stripped .

I can only hope WBO strips him immediately and does not play the ukrainian circus since while an injury ( fake or real ) might delay an actual fight it is zero reason to refuse starting mandatory negotiations !

Then wbc should then call out usyk-kabayel and after usyk is of course injured again strip him of the wbc belt too .

It won't be as big as beating AJ or Fury, but I think it's inaccurate to say it does nothing for his legacy. A win over Parker gives Usyk victories over just about every relevant HW of the last decade. Nobody else can claim that.

This fight may not happen because it isn't lucrative enough.

You're gonna have to go back in history and revise everyone instead of just Usyk then champ. Guess how many fighters wouldn't be 2x without vacating / being stripped and getting it back. How about instead of revisionist history based on "I dont like that lol" you understand everybody is playing by the same rules here

People seem to forget Parker only won his world title due to Fury getting stripped

Yeah imagine if Fury had somehow managed to hang onto his titles and dragged the whole thing out. A lot of fun fights wouldn't have happened and the division wouldn't have lit up like it did.

Slight difference is that Fury was never gonna be able to hold on to any belts

It doesn't work like that. Ali didn't become a two-time champ when he beat Terrell. He became a two-time champ when he beat Foreman.

This belt-counting stuff is getting out of hand with younger fans.

He could have dragged the whole thing out longer if he really wanted to. But I mean how long did have them without actually defending them before he dropped them?

It was good of the IBF to just take it off him as soon as he indicated he had no intention of defending, it let Joshua rise and build a profile which was great for the division.
