warren slams macca's preperation

I'm not saying Pryce should have been his best sparring. Enzo Calzaghe has a stable and a stable should mean some things, like a gym with a good atmosphere, training partners, sparring partners etc

When Enzo Calzaghe isn't bringing in sparring partners then Enzo should still have assured sparring in Calzaghe, Pryce, prospects and EVEN Gavin Rees to do some sort of REAL work.

Bad move from Team Calzaghe. How can you prepare for any activity if you aren't actually doing that activity!!!

Pretty much every trainer has made a huge mistake at some point. Enzo's are horrible but he is proven from other aspects.

I agree, Macca's game was ****. I kept wishing for that right hand to come into play but it didn't.

 

Exactly its amateur stuff , I just dont think Enzo Calzaghe gives a ****, Joe has retired with that precious 46-0, and now everything else dont matter so much, also with Joe presumably stopping training everyday alongside the boys the leading light has gone and maybe confidence has dropped in the camp

 

Macceranelli needs to move to London, Birmingham or Manchester. Sparring Gavin Rees and Pryce will get you no where.

 

I did notice Macca had put on a fair bit of muscle..he normally looks kinda soft. So its pretty clear he was weight trained which would have hurt his stamina big time.

Bulking up trying to look like David Haye isnt the answer lol....Mike Tyson had a more ripped weight trained body post prison but his stamina was poor.

 

Yeah Macca's stamina and fitness let him down last night - he was ****ed

But we know usually Enzo for all his flaws and dodgy chin - is usually fit as a flea with plenty of stamnia for 12 tough rounds

 

He must of beleived his own hype and got what he deserved ..

 

You mean to say none of you notice that he was launching huge haymakers for the duration of the fight few of which landed? You reckon that may have caused him to tire? ...

 

What's the point in Enzo adding muscle?

He's already quite fast and has knockout power. Doing weights will add nothing to him, if anything it's just going to diminish some of his strong points.

That's 3 times he's been KO'd now, that's definitely a china chin.

 

He added the extra muscle because he rountinely weighs alot less than 200lbs when he's fighting cruisers coming down from around 210-220.

 

What an excuse... The only boxers who don't really have to do sparing in boxing are journeymen... I never heard a boxer saying that he didn't spar for a world championship, what a joke!

In every "normal" boxing gym in the world, you can do sparring, even with amateurs or guys from other weightclasses... If you don't have real sparring partners, you just take everybody in the gym and switch opponenments in every rounds... It's better than nothing! But no sparring at all, he just have to be ashamed...

Plus, I really think that he had no strategy except bully and clinch Afolabi... Is Calzaghe Sr blind or didn't he saw that the american always turned to his right when on defense? Where was the left hook/uppercut from Macca? Where was the jab, the body work?

Due to the lack of profesionalism, I think that Calzaghe Sr and Macaa were thinking that they were fighting Bobby Gunn again... what a waste!

After the Haye/Afolabi loses, we have to wonder if Macca was really on world level, which I really doubt...

 

He thought he was getting yet another tomato can to fight like most of his other fights, but as it turned out the boy was throwing big punches and could look after himself. He lost because he ain't good enough and has a china chin, simple as that.

 

Maccarenelli was exposed big time last night. From the very first round he had no idea how to go about the job of breaking down a guy who is basically a sparring partner in the states. On the ropes he was throwing punches with no thought, hitting arms and gloves. Ola has probably seen maccas type a thousand times around the gyms and new how to nullify and then take him out. As for not sparring, FAIL TO PREPARE PREPARE TO FAIL.

 

But how does extra muscle help him?

 

Did anyone else notice around the 5th round when Enzo got rocked you could see Warren in the background applauding wildly.

I don't think Enzo's in a good situation with the court case that's going on.

If so Warren is a **** of the highest standard

He has stalled Enzo Maccarenellis career and why would he want Enzo to take a beating?

Enzo has done nothing to Warren he is just a associate of the Calzaghes
