Warren is a wanker and ***** and should just leave the sport and british boxing would be far better than now.
If that counts as a contract then I must be contracted to bloody allsorts - killing Peter Ridsdale You are. Get a move on, there's a good chap... edit: I appear to have ****ed that up. The top bit was a quote from Beeston. In my defence it's friday afternoon
Believe me - there aren't many things I would like to accomplish than being the man who did him in. I would be a Leeds United Legend - something I dreamed of as a youngster.
From what I saw of the Hatton dispute, Warren's case was just shockingly flimsy, amateurish, schoolyard. I was literally stunned at the lack of nouse or vigour applied to what are reasonably big money dealings. The contract referred to a 'letter' that nobody had any evidence of and there was no explanation of why the terms in 'the letter' weren't just put into the contract. It was mind-bogglingly amateurish and designed just to hold Hatton up, it was simple spite. Allegedly.
The system needs to change. The promoter should be in the employ of the fighter not the other way around. Without the fighter the promoter wouldn't have a job. Also sueing fighters who choose to leave isn't going to convince any prospects to sign with Wank. Warren is a cancer that is killing British Boxing.
That sounds like circumstancial evidence to me. There is NO WAY to prove a verbal agreement. If there was it would be written down on paper!!!
The last Warren show I paid to watch live was around 1989. I got fed up of watching what Jeff describes above, as well as buying tickets for shows which in the end bore little resemblance to that orginally advertised, time and time again. It still happens today which makes me laugh why fans have been so gullible for so long!!
I remeber a couple of years ago when I went about claiming back my bank charges the bank are ****s - they refused to pay up - and were throwing legal threats and strongly advising me to drop it - and leaving it til the last minute to respond to the courts orders - dragging it out as long as possible just to make it difficult for me when push came to shove and we were set for our day in court the cowards paid me up in full ££££££££££ this is the game Warren plays with fighters like Hatton and now Calzaghe - he knows really he ain't got a case - but he will give them a hard time with legal nonsense - just to **** them off and sabtoage them - until push comes to shove and he will just drop it then - and just resort to childish mikey taking in his columns.
They are both to blame. Joe is selfish enough not to give two shits about leaving Warren but is stupid enough not to do it cleanly. Joe has worked with Frank longer than most and must have seen boxers come, go and get sued all over the place. Boxers talk and Calzaghe is ******ed for giving Warren anything to get stuck into. On the other hand, Warren has got to realise what Calzaghe has given him. A whole load of shows in Wales, an 11 year champion who is content to mop up the trash he's feeding him, the whole fairly successful Calzaghe stable. Frank Warren has got no redeeming human qualities and is a hard nosed businessman through and through. I think there must be more to this story because Joe and Frank seemed to have a pretty good working relationship up until very recently. I'm sure Warren blames Ricky Hatton for having a word with Joe about the money he is now making - it wouldn't surprise me if Joe tries to persuade the boys in his Dad's gym to join 'Joe Calzaghe Enterprises'. But the whole thing is very disappointing and unsatisfactory.
why should he though mate?at the end of the day he is the one taking the punches etc.i agree he has been lotyal to warren;but if he decides he wants to promote his last 2 fights then fair enough .i cant fault him tbh. warren would have made enough money out of him over the years, more than got his return i would say tbh. #warren is a buissness man ,now joe wants a piece of that .
Obviouly we don't know the whole story but I find it hard to believe that Joe did not promise him part of his future. Otherwise Joe (and most definately Enzo) would be out at every opportunity saying that Warren is a lying toerag. Joe's way of putting it was "I have a few things to sort out with Frank but hopefully we can do that quickly". That to me, says that Joe made some promises. Maybe Warren is threatening to sue to get a decent out of court settlement to avoid the legal shenanigans, we just don't know. As far as I'm concerned, Calzaghe should have made no promises whatsoever. If he has done, then he's been an idiot after seeing what's happened to other Warren boxers after they left - he should have seen it coming. I wouldn't begrudge Joe going it alone to maximise the money he makes from his last fights but he had the opportunity to do it cleanly without all this **** and he failed.
:rofl :rofl :rofl I am also contracted to killing Peter Ridsdale. The ****. Already done Stevens so they can't get me on that one :yep
