Been serious tough he probably realises that JMM has now become THE MAN at the weight therefore doesn't need the titles, the mandatories or the sanctioning fee's. That title will be vacant very soon.

    1 month down the line...

    Warren exclusive on Warren TV:

"Well you saw what Amir did to the ATG Barrera and the WBO rightly recognised that he was the number 1 contender for Marquez's title. But I think Marquez must have watched the Khan-Barrera fight too, because he was asking for silly money to fight Amir.
Believe me, we offered him a career high pay day, but since Amir has been working with Freddie and sparring with the likes of Manny Pac, who incidentally struggled with Amir, but will thrash Ricky Hatton shortly....well what can I say? Since that work, Amir has looked unbeatable and Marquez's camp know it too.

If he wants to defend the title against guys with no chance that is up to him, I can't blame him he wants to make money, but it means that we have to look at other options because it was silly money, crazy money they were demanding.
Amir will be a world champion, but these so called world champions don't want to know about him, so it looks like he will fight for the vacant WBU Lightweight title this summer against Anthony Mezaache.

It should be a fantastic fight, Mezaache recently destroyed John Thaxton who has been calling out Amir for some time, and it will be a great card and the summers biggest night of boxing.

PPV £24.95 "A Champion is Born".

JMM is on his way out of the Division he wants hatton or pac and i dont think either will come down to fight him. The WBO are just making sure if Pac does come down that they are there.

do you really think that? i belive that if he puts up a good showing against marquez that could open doors for him. a loss to the no2 p4p fighter in the world is hardly career ending in my eyes

Warren must be hoping that Marquez will go up to 140 and vacate the belts or that the WBO creates a 'regular' title so that Khan can fight somebody like Ola Afolabi or another guy with a similar 13-1 type record or that he gets handed the title like Maccarenelli did before.
