Pavlik would cause problems to Calzaghe. Hopkins would simply lose.

Calzeghe Vs. Hopkins is the fight that must happen next. The "Hopkins is old" argument is diluted by the fact that he still ranks top 5 P4P. I think Ward's boxed into a corner and is just trying to get more money, but if he throws a hand grenade into the negotiations, Joe needs to dump him and make the fight happen himself next. After Hopkins, then Joe consider Pavlik or the other guys.

Calzaghe should think about a rematch with Robin Reid. I also think a rematch with Evans Ashira (where we would get to see what a healthy Calzaghe could do) would make a lot of sense.

Most of all, Calzaghe-Veit III MUST be made!

Why do Calzaghe's people keep calling out Pavlik, a man two divisions lower? I want to see Calzaghe vs Pavlik but they both have other business to take care of first.

I was sayin in another thread that there has not been intelligent sign of life for the $16 million offer from GBP and like by a touch of magic, Warren comes out with a splenderous answer that reveals more than nothing... Well, Pavlik is to fight a mandatory in February, isn't it? Woods is the man to Joe and let's call all the BS a day.

If that $16mil offer is for real, I don't know what Calzaghe is waiting for. That's the fight that makes the most sense for right now. Leave Pavlik alone and make the Hopkins fight.

Pavlik shouldn't fight him until the end of the next yr, first he has to get by Taylor again and then he should take 1 or 2 warm up fights at higher weight.

Pavlik does not need 1-2 tune-ups. He's already fought above 160 12 times, and everyone of those fights ended in a KO, most in under 3 rounds! Joe called Kelly out after the JT fight. Now he needs to put his ****ing money where his mouth his. Pav/Taylor II is Febuary 16th. Pavlik and Calzaghe could fight as soon as May or June. Joe would last longer and do better than any previous opponent, but he still gets KTFO. It would take Kelly 10-11 rounds instead of the normal 8 or fewer rounds because Joe would clearly be harder to hit, but in the long run he has nothing in his arsenal to keep the monster at bay. Now I'm done with these thread until the time comes when I get to say I TOLD YOU SO!!!:deal

Call me crazy but i certainly believe calling out Pavlik or even Woods as an alternative to the old **** is a better fight than a shot to pieces Roy Jones Junior a man who hasn't looked good since early 2003 !

If Calzaghe can make short work of Hopkins he is almost guarantteed to line up Pavlik. Every spectacular win only improves his marketability.

He's makin no excuses, Rumsfeld. Bernard is afraid of him and they don't want to tarnish B-Hop's legacy. Listen to Nazeem Richardson, that's the real reason for this, Warren did want Joe to fight Bernard for any sort of money, anywhere in the world, Philadelphia in fact, and it would be a 6th round TKO - would be cause it's not gonna be, lil dog **** and plenty of wasted time, that's what it was... Joey C walked out of the fight against the old toothless *******, is not that a shame?
