Meh, no surprises there. Except for how close the bid came in at.

Oh well, Katsidis is just going to have to knock another Brit out on his own doorstep. Shame it's not here though. And I really hope Katsidis get another big name after this.

By the rules, Mick does get 80% of the purse bid, hence $400k+. I'm sure this will help suffice Michael for having to travel back to the the UK!

For the life of me, I can't figure out how Toowoomba lost out on this purse bid

Mate, that's seperate negotiations as I understand. Mick as the Interim champion get's the lions share of the submitted purse.

So the deal on other revenue split needs to be agreed upon inside the next 5 days before contracts are due to be signed and dilevered to the WBC?

Only my opinion, but I doubt whether that comes into it Ash to be frank. I would think once it goes to purse that the promoter may say 'all bets off', hence the reason for having to go to purse in the purse bid, i.e. failed negotiations.

To hard to say mate considering I'm not involved.

didnt anyone read that article?!?!?!?! the author claims to have had prescott ahead of mitchell by 4 rounds after the 12th and claims it was one of the worst decisions ever...:rofl

OMFG, it was an absolute walkover, Prescott looked rubbish and go totally outboxed about 10 rounds to 2... terrible article
