Warrens cheapest tickets have rose to 50 bucks

    I see the cheapest tickets for the Burns fight are 50 quid. How can he justify increasing the price from 30 quid to fifty quid over just a couple of years. I mean it was annoying when he raised it to 40, but almost no time later they're up at fifty? I mean I know there has been a tax increase but come on.

    Posted about this yesterday in another Ricky Burns thread.

    Was thinking of going along to Braehead in March to see Ricky in action but two tickets would set me back £120 when you include booking fees and p&p. A little out of my price range at the moment.

    christ I never thought about that. I've got a 20 pound ticket master voucher someone gave me a a present so I was thinking I'd order them off that as opposed to buying them off a boy I know whose fighting on the undercard (like I usually do) but If it's going to set me back extra money on booking and Post and packing then I may as well just buy them from him.

    To be fair i think prices have gone up across the board for boxing shows and that Warren has a bit of a premium for the bigger world title bills and PPVs

    why what other show's have gone up in price??

    charging 50 quid as the cheapest ticket aint the way to go.

    I may be wrong but i thought a few promotions had put prices up approx £5 since the VAT rise to cover costs

    my ticket was 30 quid at the boxing in Liverpool last saturday.

    also on the latest prizefighter poster it says..

    floor seating £20
    tiered seating £30
    ringside £40 & £50

    those prices not gone up.

    could be just warren.

    I may be wrong i hope i am! but costs are continually rising for promoters the VAT rise wont help they will be paying an extra 2.5% on tickets and the venue hire prices security etc etc will be going up as well

    Yep but i think promoters would be losing alot of fan's raising the cheap seat's to £50..

    that aside,i know guys selling tickets on behalf of the boxers and word is hes blaming vat rise ...2.5 % dosent equate to an extra tenner mate.

    I think that you could argue either way...:yep

    If you get a decent card that is stacked up with decent fights it is a bargain...:yep

    I have been to loads of shows where there have been lots of decent fights and it works out to be a really value for money night out...:yep

    I think £50 is not unreasonable...:yep Look at the cost of the seats for Haye v Audley...:nut

    Realistically £50 is too much for those on low incomes or with young families.
    Perhaps for a twice a year outing, but it will kill any regular trip to the boxing.
